  1. Some great selections there Mark. It’s hard to pick a top ten from a whole decade but here are some alternative selections for you to consider:
    1. Quentin Tarantino – Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. So different from anything that went before and started hi directing career.
2.The Coen Brothers – have made some great films, including these in the 1990s – Miller’s Crossing, Barton Fink, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Big Lebowski, and, probably the best of the lot, Fargo.
    3. Jack Nicholson has made some great films but As Good As it Gets is one of my favourites.
    4. We both like Gary Oldman and his portrayal of Dracula in Bram Stoker’s Dracula was another great performance.
    5. Clint Eastwood has acted in and directed some great films and Unforgiven shows off both of these talents.
    6. Danny Boyle’s first two films he directed in the 1990s – Shallow Grave and Trainspotting broke new ground in cinema.
    7. Kevin Spacey, although he is disgraced now he featured in some great films in the 1990s, including Glengarry Glen Ross, Se7en, L A Confidential, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, American Beauty, and my favourite, The Usual Suspects.
    8. Steven Spielberg has directed some great films and Schindler’s List is undoubtedly the best film ever made about the Holocaust.
    9. The Silence of the Lambs – best film made about serial killers. Anthony Hopkins masterclass in acting.
    10. The Addams Family brought the old TV series back to life.
