Article: Top 10 Greatest Children Films Of All Time Volume 1

Firstly, I know The Guardian which Newspaper of the year did their own version of Top 50 (can be found here). But this is my own version, so I put my own spin of this category.

10.The Wizard Of Oz (Ages 6 – 9)

Young Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz and embark on a quest with three new friends to see the Wizard. Old fashioned type of film which is superbly made, Judy Garland is likeable as the main lead and the musical element is spectacular, my favourite is Over The Rainbow and it also got great characters and this is eye catching, it got an easy-to-follow story for the younger generation and it is superb.

9.Enchanted (Ages 10 – 12)

A young maiden in a land called Andalasia, who is prepared to be wed, is sent to New York City by an evil Queen, where she falls in love with a lawyer. Not all people will like this film as it will divide people, for me personally it’s the acting that is totally believable and that is the key to this film, the film itself is gorgeous to look at, overall, this is entertaining and generally funny plus it is watchable.

8.Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (Ages 1 – 5)

A poor but hopeful boy seeks one of the five coveted golden tickets that will send him on a tour of Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factor. Personally, I grows up watching this film and I still admire this, Gene Wilder is perfect as Willy Wonka and this film is well casted and this is colourful, the songs are generally catchy and my personal favourite is Pure imagination, this is ideal for a raining day.

7.Hotel For Dogs (Ages 6-9)

Two mischievous orphans as they attempt to hide dozens of stray dogs in an abandoned hotel. Disheartened by their new guardian’s announcement that pets are strictly forbidden. Might not be suitable for cynical type of person, this is cute and heartwarming and it will made you smile as well, this is a nice film and it will capture people heart, this is likeable and it got cute dogs as well.

6.Cinderella (Ages 10 – 12)

When her father unexpectedly dies, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her scheming stepsisters. Never one to give up hope, Ella’s fortunes begin to change after meeting a dashing stranger. One of the best live action films as it got a multilayered story and this is beautiful, it got an all – star cast and they are brilliant in their roles, this is one of those film which the pacing is spot on, it will draw you in from start to finish as this is enjoyable.

5.Dora And The Lost City Of Gold (Ages 10 – 12)

Teenage explorer Dora leads her friends on an adventure to save her parents and solve the mystery behind a lost city of gold. A feel-good adventure film which is joyous and uplifting at the same time. It balances the darker element with the comedy aspect and for me personally it certainly works, it got stunning scenery and it is well casted, if you wanted a perfect adventure film this is ideal for you.

4.Zootropolis (Ages 6 – 9)

In a city of anthropomorphic animals, a rookie bunny cop and a cynical con artist fox must work together to uncover a conspiracy. Laugh out loud animation film with a brilliant story and the vocal is spot on, it also got a good message of acceptance and the diversity aspect and that is the key to this film, this is suitable for all ages and a family viewing type of film, this is charming and enjoyable.

3.Charlotte’s Web (Ages 1 – 5)

Wilbur the pig is scared of the end of the season, because he knows that come that time, he will end up on the dinner table. He hatches a plan with Charlotte, a spider that lives in his pen, to ensure that this will never happen. Cute and heartwarming film which will made you smile and this is a nice film, the film itself is wonderful to look at and this is pure escapism, it is one of those film which is watchable from start to finish, this is a feel-good experience which you needed.

2.Paddington/ 2014 – 2017 (Ages 10 – 12)

Having settled with The Brown family in Windsor Gardens, Paddington has become popular in his community, offering people emotional support in various ways. For me personally this is a film you can revisit anytime and you never get tired of this, this has got everything and it is a fantastic family film, it will charm you and it got that likeability factor, you care about with these characters and it is funny and heartfelt, overall, this is entertaining and light as this has got an easy-to-follow story.

1.Ratatouille (Ages 1 – 5)

A rat named Remy who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant. Gorgeous looking animation film and this is one of the best Pixar films, the vocal is perfect and it brim with comic one liner, this is relatable as the moral is chasing your dream and I personally connect with that message, it got great characters and this is memorable and it will move you, this is suitable for all ages and a family viewing, this is a superbly made film.
