5.3:10 To Yuma

A small – time rancher agrees to hold a captured outlaw who’s awaiting a train to go to court in Yuma. A battle of wills ensues as the outlaw tries to psych out the rancher. I got this film from my public library and I still vaguely remember this, this is well made and this is well casted and overall, this is a good film, it slowly drawn you in from the start, it is one of those film that will surprise you.
4.Amsterdam

In the 1930s, three friends witness a murder, are framed for it, and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history. Underneath the weirdness there is a great story to this film and it got an all – star cast, it might be too surreal for some people but I do admire this film that try to be something different, the acting is convincing and totally believable and the casting is spot on, it might not be groundbreaking but this is a good film and it is well made.
3.Public Enemies
The Feds try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s. This film is based on a true story and this can be rather exciting, I’m not normally into gangsters film and this one surprised me as this is a good film, the chemistry between Johnny Depp and Christian Bale is superb, if you wanted a gangsters drama film this is ideal for you and it is superbly made.
2.The Pale Blue Eye
A world-weary detective is hired to investigate the murder of a West Point cadet. Stymied by the cadet’s code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case – a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe. A slow burner type of film which is silently powerful, the twist at the end is brilliant and this is totally unpredictable, you will care about with these characters and this is memorable from start to finish, for me personally this is underrated.
1.Batman Trilogy (2005 – 2012)
As a boy, a young Bruce Wayne watched in horror as his millionaire parents were slain in front of his eyes, a trauma which led him to become obsessed with revenge. With these film they are consistent and these are truly epic, it is action packed but it never loses the story itself and they are entertaining, the good thing about them they are character driven and it got a psychological edge, overall, the pacing is perfect and the villains are memorable, it also eye catching as well.
This list has reminded me that I still haven’t watched Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. I MUST do that. Here’s another 3 of his films for you to consider:
Ford v Ferrari – based on a true story
The Big Short – another based on a true story – s bit complicated but worth it.
The Prestige – the rivalry of 2 magicians and another directed by Christopher Nolan.
