10.Malignant

Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities. One thing with James Wan he normally made good films, but with this one is one of his weakest films as this is hard to watch. It is so brutal that becoming unwatchable and the pacing isn’t there, you wanted to like this film and the story seem good from the start, unfortunately at the midsection it falters and it never recover.
9.The Lighthouse (2019)

Two lighthouse keepers try to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New English island in the 1890s. Too be fair with the acting they really try their hardest, Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe chemistry is spot on and that is the key to this film. The ending is generally weak and it is getting too weird and surreal and that what ruined this film, it is such a shame as this got potential, it doesn’t gel and flow together plus it just didn’t deliver.
8.Hotel Transylvania: Transformania

After one experiment, Johnny turns into a monster and everyone else becomes human. Now it has to be seen whether they will be able to reverse this experiment. With Hotel Transylvania films they can be funny but with this one it is generally unfunny, some of the vocal talent is completely change and the main director is gone, it loses the charm and this isn’t heartfelt and this isn’t laugh out loud funny, it feels rather rushed and by the end of this film this isn’t memorable at all.
7.The Curse Of Bridge Hollow

A teenage girl, who accidentally releases an ancient and mischievous spirit on Halloween which causes decorations to come alive and wreak havoc, must team up with the last person she’d want to in order to save their town – her father. Normally with comedy horror they can work and some don’t, it also struggles with the lighter moment with the darker aspect, this is more suitable for adults than kids but the CGI/SFX is outstanding, it not that funny and it feel rather forced.
6.Sinister

A controversial true crime writer finds a box of super 8 home movies in his new home, revealing that the murder case he is currently researching could be the work of an unknown serial killer whose legacy dates back to the 1960s. The start to this film seems promising and the acting is convincing, but the final third turn into a slasher film, plus for me personally it doesn’t really work, it could have been more psychological but it run out of idea and that is a real shame.
5.Last Night In Soho

Aspiring fashion designer Eloise is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s, where she encounters dazzling wannabe singer Sandie. But the glamour is not as it seems, and the dreams of the past crack and splinter into something darker. Personally, I admire this film that try to be something different, the twist is clever and the main lead is likeable, it just feels the director is out of his element and he mainly do comedy films, the start and the ending is superb but it’s in the middle and the midsection that getting too overcomplicated, it could have been a good film.
4.The Black Phone

After being abducted by a child killer and locked in a soundproof basement, a 13-year-old boy starts receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s previous victims. I personally like the story to this film and this is well made, but unfortunately this becoming too predictable and rather safe, the villain isn’t memorable and overall, the film in general is attractive to look at, for me personally this lacking the emotional aspect, it got potential but it didn’t quite work.
3.The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

In 1981, demonologist couple Ed and Lorraine Warren document the exorcism of 8-year-old David Glatzel, who is possessed by a demon in Brookfield, Connecticut. They are faced with one of the most challenging cases of their controversial careers. Perfectly paced film and the acting is convincing, the first two films are brilliant and this is a major letdown, it is lacking the psychological element and there are no jump scares at all, it is too predictable and too safe and it doesn’t work as much and that is a real shame.
2.The Babadook

A single mother and her child fall into a deep well of paranoia when an eerie children’s book titled “Mister Babadook” manifests in their home. I’m normally into smaller type of horror film so I thought I going to like this film, for me personally it is lacking the psychological element and it is missing the emotional aspect, it doesn’t leave you a lasting impression on you and too be fair the monster looks realistic, the characters are hard to like and for me personally this is disappointing.
1.Corpse Bride

When a shy groom practices his wedding vows in the inadvertent presence of a deceased young woman, she rises from the grave assuming he has married her. Halloween type of animation film and I’m into stop motion type of film, but with this one you can’t connect with these characters and it didn’t move you, the vocal in this film is superb and it got an all – star cast, it struggling with the balance of the lighter moment with the darker aspect, this is more suitable for adults than kids as it can be rather scary for them, too be fair with this film this eye catching despite of these flaws.
