Marcel The Shell With Shoes On

A cash – strapped documentary maker decides to make his newest documentary about a mollusc shell he finds living in his Airbnb with his friends. Firstly I admire this film that try to be something different and I like the idea behind this film, but unfortunately this feel like a half and hour type of programmed than a feature length film, I think personally the moral is appreciated the little things in life and that is a good message, but overall it just doesn’t really moved you as it can feel rather forced, with all of those flaws it doesn’t exactly work.

Swan Song (2021)

In the near future, a terminally ill man explores a heart wrenching, emotionally complex solution to save his wife and son from grief by duplicating himself without them knowing. I just feel in general this has got great potential and what could have been, the pacing isn’t quite there as it doesn’t really hold your interest, it doesn’t have that emotional impact and it doesn’t leave you a lasting impression on you, with this type of film it needed that but it’s the film in general not the casting, it is such a shame as I wanted to like this film but I can’t get into it.

The Jungle Book (2016)

After a threat from the tiger Shere Khan forces him to flee the jungle, a man – cub named Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery with the help of panther Bagheera and free – spirited bear Baloo. Eye catching film with amazing CGI/SFX plus the scenery look gorgeous. It struggles the balances of lighter moment with the darker aspect, this mainly aimed for adults than kids as it takes itself too seriously and isn’t as fun as it supposes to be, the story is there but it didn’t quite deliver and that is a real shame.

Greyhound (2020)

Several months after the U.S. entry into World War II, an inexperienced U.S. Navy commander must lead an allied convoy being stalked by a German submarine wolf pack. The story is spot on and by the end of this film you will like this film, the thing is this isn’t character driven and there isn’t much backstory to this film, the acting is convincing and totally believable despite the film in general doesn’t gel or flow together, it could have been more powerful but it still a good film.

A Man Called Otto

Otto is a grump who’s given up on life following the loss of wife and wants to end it all. When a young family moves in nearby, he meets his match in quick – witted Marisol, leading to a friendship that will turn his world around. Personally, this isn’t a bad film as it got some nice moment in this film, the final third in this film will move you and the main lead is likeable, overall, this film doesn’t gel and flow together and it doesn’t leave you a lasting impression on you, despite that this is well made and this is surprisingly a good film.

Fisherman’s Friends

Ten fishermen from Cornwall are signed by Universal Records and achieve a top ten hit with their debut album, “Sea Shanties”. Once you watched this film it will made you smile and this is uplifting, funny and sad type of story, this is a crowd pleaser type of film and you care about with these characters, it also relatable and it will move you and it will leave you a lasting impression on you, this doesn’t feel forced and the scenery is outstanding and this is superb.
