The Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington, King of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town, but his attempts to bring Christmas to his home causes confusion. Normally this is my type of film and I thought this would be amazing, but unfortunately none of the songs are catchy enough and it doesn’t really move me as well, it lacks the emotional aspect and the characters are hard to like, I wonder how much import Henry Selick has in this film, it could have been a brilliant film but for me personally it doesn’t really deliver.

Relic (2020)

A daughter, mother and grandmother are haunted by a manifestation of dementia that consumes their family’s home. With this film it has got great potential and I personally like the story to this film, for me personally it lacks the emotional and the psychological edge for this film, the ending is weird and rather surreal plus too be fair with the acting they really trying their hardest, overall, this film isn’t as memorable as it should be, it is such a shame as this could have been a great film.

The Adam Project

After accidentally crash landing in 2022, time traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed teams up with his 12-year-old self for a mission to save the future. Firstly I admire this film that try to be something different, it is well casted and the chemistry between Walker Scobell and Ryan Reynolds is spot on, the story is good and it is a time traveling coming of age film and that does work, it have got some nice moment in this film despite the villain isn’t as memorable, the start of this film is really good, but the midsection falters just a little bit, despite that this is fun.

Champions (2023)

A former minor league basketball coach is ordered by the court to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities. He soon realizes that despite his doubts, together, this team can go further than they ever imagined. A crowd pleaser film which is uplifting and it will made you smile, the casting is perfect and brim with comic one liner and this is a fun film, it has got a nice moral as it not about winning and it’s the taking part, some of the jokes are funny and with certain jokes they can be rather crude in places, despite that this is heartfelt and enjoyable.

The Blair Witch Project

Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind. One of the best-found footage films and it will creep you under your skin, the acting is amazing and totally believable and the pacing is perfect, it got that psychological edge and the ending is perfect, it will draw you in from start to finish as this is surprisingly good, this is well made and you will always remember this film.

The Half Of It

A shy, introverted, Chinese – American, straight – A student finds herself helping the school jock woo the girl they both secretly love. In the process, each teaches the other about the nature of love as they find connection in the most unlikely of places. Quietly powerful and this is relatable to people, it will touch your heart and you will care about with these characters, it is an LGBTQ and a coming-of-age film, it will leave you a lasting impression on you but it never feels forced or too sentimental, it silently underrated and this is a brilliant and superb film.
