Leo (2023)

A 74-year-old lizard named Leo and his turtle friend decide to escape from the terrarium of a Florida school classroom where they have been living for decades. Personally, I wanted to like this film and it has got a brilliant story, but unfortunately it hasn’t got that emotional core and you don’t feel anything for the characters, I find some of the jokes slightly offensive and this isn’t suitable for kids, the vocal in this film is okay but nothing special, this could have been a good film but with these flaws this is a major letdown.

Kindling

Kindling follows a group of young men who return to their hometown in order to turn their friend’s final days into a celebration of life and friendship. It is one of those film which has got great potential, the story is there, but despite that this feel like one of those film that made for television, it feels rather forced and too sentimental and the characters are hard to like, this could have been a good film that would move you, it just doesn’t deliver and that is a real shame.

Godmothered

An unskilled young fairy godmother ventures out on her own to prove her worth by tracking down a young girl whose request for help was ignored. Eye catching and gorgeous looking film with the pacing is perfect, it has got some nice moment in this film and the story is spot on. For me personally it’s the ending, which is slightly weak, also the film itself doesn’t gel and flows together as much, the acting is amazing and it can be enjoyable despite of those flaws.

Candy Cane Lane

A man is determined to win the neighbourhood’s annual Christmas decorating contest. He makes a pact with an elf to help him win and the elf casts a spell that brings the 12 days of Christmas to life, which brings unexpected chaos to town. With this film this is heartfelt and this is a well-made film with brilliant CGI/SFX, I admire this film that try to be something different, despite the final third getting a bit hyperactive and this isn’t laugh out loud funny, this isn’t a bad film but this isn’t perfect, overall, this is a good film and this is watchable from the start.

The Mother (2023)

While fleeing from dangerous assailants, an assassin comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she left earlier in life. One of those film that will move you and this is quietly powerful with stunning scenery, it slowly drawn you in from start to finish as the pacing is perfect as it holds your interest, this is nearly a five-star film but the violence can overshadow the film just a little bit, that is the only thing for this film and this is superbly made.

David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived

A coming-of-age documentary of Daniel Radcliffe and his stunt double David Holmes, whose close friendship endures a life changing accident. A documentary that is close to my heart and it about life and what you overcome, I personally connect with this message and it will touch people heart, this is sad, uplifting and an unlikely friendship with a hint of a feel good experience, it can be funny in some places and it will made you happy, it will leave you a lasting impression on you and this is memorable, this is one of the best documentary.
