10.Dracula (1992)

The centuries old vampire Count Dracula comes to England to seduce his barrister Jonathan Harker’s fiancée Mina Murray and inflict havoc in the foreign land. I grow up watching this film and this is well made, it is well casted and this is like a gothic type of film, this is intriguing and it also dated well, the story is there and the film in general is certainly memorable.
9.Sleepy Hollow

Ichabod Crane is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of three people; the culprit is legendary apparition The Headless Horseman. Gorgeous looking film with an all star cast and they all convince in their roles, it got amazing jump scares and the villain is certainly memorable, it can be rather brutal in places but if you get past that, this is a wonderfully made and this is good.
8.From Hell

After five ritualistic murders are committed in 1888 London, Inspector Abberline’s assignment is to investigate the “Jack the Ripper” murders. Along with a string of mutilated prostitutes, he uncovers a conspiracy involving the government. Firstly, this has got some horror element in this film as this is intriguing, the chemistry between the two lead is superb and this is unpredictable, in some ways this is thought provoking and it will made you think, this is perfectly paced.
7.Annabelle: Creation

Twelve years after the tragic death of their little girl, a doll maker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, where they become the target of the doll maker’s possessed creation, Annabelle. Eye catching film as this got an excellent story, of all the Annabelle films this one is the best ones, this is well casted, plus this is a superbly made film.
6.The Nun

A priest with a haunted past and a novice on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania and confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun. Don’t really get the hate for this film, as this is a brilliant film with superb jump scares, in some ways this is watchable as this is so underrated, in my eyes this film deserves a chance.
5.The Conjuring (2013 – 2016)

Enfield, London, 1977. Following the Perrons blood – curdling supernatural encounter described in The Conjuring (2013) and the Lutzes controversial case of possession portrayed in The Amityville Horror (1979), the seasoned explorers of the unexplained. Both films are consistent as these are rather good, also these films based on a true story, the main two lead got excellent chemistry together, it got that psychological element and for me it’s work.
4.The Others

In 1945, immediately following the end of Second World War, a woman who lives with her two photosensitive children on her darkened old family estate in the Channel Islands becomes convinced that the home is haunted. Might not always work but if you get past that, this is silently watchable with a brilliant twist, it is well casted and the story is excellent, it is generally good.
3.The Pale Blue Eye

A world-weary detective is hired to investigate the murder of a West Point cadet. Stymied by the cadet code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case – a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe. One of those film which certainly hold your interest, this is silently powerful and it has got a superb twist, it got element of the horror aspect and it got that period elements as well, the film in general is certainly memorable.
2.The Secret Of Marrowbone

In 1960s rural America, a young man and his three younger siblings, who have kept secret the death of their beloved mother in order to remain together, are plagued by a sinister presence in the sprawling manor in which they live. Unpredictable film with a fantastic twist, for me personally this is so underrated as this will draw you in, the acting is amazing and totally believable, it will creep you under your skin as this will surprise you.
1.The Orphanage (2007)

A woman brings her family back to her childhood home, which used to be an orphanage for handicapped children. Before long, her son starts to communicate with an invisible new friend. A psychological horror film that will move you, the ending is beautiful and it will leave you a lasting impression on you, the acting is convincing and totally believable, it will draw you in from start to finish and once you watch this, you will always remember this film.
I used to watch a lot of this genre. Here’s some suggestions:
Witchfinder General (1968) A young soldier seeks to put an end to the evils caused by a vicious witch-hunter when the latter terrorizes his fiancé and kills her uncle. This is the most horror filled film I ever saw.
The Devils (1971) In 17th-century France, Father Urbain Grandier’s protection of the city of Loudun from the corrupt Cardinal Richelieu is undermined by a sexually repressed nun’s accusation of witchcraft. Ken Russell gone mad!
Interview with the Vampire (1994) A vampire tells his epic life story: love, betrayal, loneliness, and hunger. Stars Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) The centuries old vampire Count Dracula comes to England to seduce his barrister Jonathan Harker’s fiancé and inflict havoc in the foreign land. Another brilliant performance by Gary Oldman
The Limehouse Golem (2016) In Victorian London, a Scotland Yard inspector hunts down the sadistic killer behind a series of gory, Jack the Ripper-Like murders. Bill Nighy in an unusual role for him.
