The Starling Girl

17-year-old Jem Starling struggles with her place within her Christian fundamentalist community. But everything changes when her magnetic youth pastor Owen returns to their church. Firstly, I wanted to like this film as it got a fantastic story, but unfortunately it hard to get into with this film, the pacing is off and it doesn’t hold your interest, it not quite as uplifting as it should be with this type of genres, it got great potential and for me personally it doesn’t deliver.

Nimona

When a knight in a futuristic medieval world is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona a mischievous teen who happens to be a shapeshifting creature he’s sworn to destroy. I admire this film that tries to be something different, this is refreshing despite it feels no character’s backstory for some of the characters, it feels rather rushed time to time, with these flaws this is a major disappointed.

A Good Year

A British investment broker inherits his uncle’s chateau and vineyard in Provence, where he spent much of his childhood. He discovers a new laid – back lifestyle as he tries to renovate the estate to be sold. Personally, this is a well casted film and this is enjoyable, it has got some nice moment in this film, sometimes it doesn’t gel or flow together as much, the midsection falters just a little bit, but despite that this is easy to watch.

The Big Sick

Pakistan – born comedian Kumail Nanjiani and grad student Emily Gardner fall in love but struggle as their cultures clash. When Emily contracts a mysterious illness, Kumail finds himself forced to face her feisty parents, his family’s expectations, and his true feelings. One of those film that has got a superb story, the two leads have got excellent chemistry together, it can feel slightly overstuffed and throws too many ideas, despite that this is intriguing.

Sinbad: Legend Of The Seven Seas

The sailor of legend is framed by the goddess Eris for the theft of the Book of Peace and must travel to her realm at the end of the world to retrieve it and save the life of his childhood friend Prince Proteus. Gorgeous looking animation film with great characters that are likeable, the scenery is outstanding and this is easy to follow, the set pieces is exciting and it feel a thrill ride type of film, the only thing this it doesn’t gel or flow together as much, this is watchable.

Peter Pan & Wendy

Follow the adventures of Peter Pan, a boy who does not want to grow up, and how he recruits three siblings in London, and together they embark on a magical adventure on the enchanted island of Neverland. Too be honest with you this film surprises me, the story is simple and this is easy to watch, the scenery is breathtaking and it slowly draws you in, it got that emotional aspect with the flashbacks but it never gets too overcomplicated, it nearly a five star film but for me personally the villain isn’t as memorable, without that this is a family viewing film that is enjoyable and fun.
