Mini Film Review Volume 97

Lilo & Stitch

Stitch, an extraterrestrial entity, heads straight to planet Earth after he escapes his prison, where he tries to impersonate a dog. Things take a turn when Lilo adopts him from an animal shelter. Firstly, this film has got a good story and the scenery is outstanding. But unfortunately this film isn’t as subtle and it lacks that charm, the vocal in this film is spot on, I don’t want to be too harsh on this film as it got great potential, for me personally it didn’t deliver.

It’s Complicated

When attending their son’s college graduation, a couple reignite the spark in their relationship. But the complicated fact is they’re divorced and he’s remarried. This film has got an all – star cast and they all convince in their roles, in general this film is easy to watch from start to finish. I just feel in general this film isn’t relatable; it tries too hard to be funny and sometimes it hard to follow. I wanted to like this and it has got great potential, for me personally it didn’t deliver.

The Secret Kingdom

Join Peter and Verity on a magical journey, as they embark on a quest to unite five mystical treasures to defeat an ancient enemy – the evil Shroud. Eye catching adventure film with a beautiful story. The CGI/SFX look outstanding and realistic, I would say it feel rather safe and predictable. It doesn’t offer you anything new or fresh, despite that it can be exciting and an epic style of film. This isn’t a bad film despite with these flaws, overall, this is a good film.

Ezra (Standing Up)

Comedian Max co – parents autistic son Ezra with ex – wife Jenna. Faced with crucial decisions about Ezra’s future, Max and Ezra go on a life – changing cross – country road trip. For me personally it’s the acting that made this film good. The film has got two different names as this is silently powerful, it is watchable from start to finish, the thing with this film this isn’t as subtle as it can be rather full on. If you get past that this is a beautiful film, it will touch your heart.

Operation Finale

On Christmas Eve 1944, a team of secret agents sets out to track down the Nazi officer who masterminded the Holocaust. A slow burner type of film which is silently powerful. This is well casted and they all convince in their roles, unfortunately the midsection falters just a little bit, the final third to this film will certainly move you, if you wanted a true story film this is ideal.

Love At First Sight (2023)

Two strangers connect on a flight to London, only to be separated by a twist of fate. A reunion seems improbable, but love has a way of defying the odds. I admire this film that try to be something different. Not exactly suitable for cynical type of people, it never feels forced or too sentimental as it got that emotional aspect, you will care about with these characters and in general this film is heartfelt, this film will made you smile as this is a feel-good film.
