Compartment No. 6

As a train weaves its way up to the arctic circle, two strangers share a journey that will change their perspective on life. One of those film which has got a great story. The scenery looks outstanding, but unfortunately the film itself is hard to get into. This doesn’t exactly move you as it hard to care for these characters, I don’t want to be too harsh on this film as this got great potential, I wanted to like this film but for me personally it doesn’t deliver.

Johnny (2022/ Netflix)

Love for the world and other people and about the fact that everyone deserves a second chance. When Patryk receives it from a priest Jan Kaczkowski does not suspect how it will change his life. Too be honest with you I didn’t know this film based on a true story. It certainly pays respect to those people who behind this film, it is another film which has got a great story. For me personally it doesn’t gel or flow together as much, it might not always hold your interest as it got a bit of pacing problem, despite that this is a well-made film.

The Intouchables

After he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, an aristocrat hires a young man from the projects to be his caregiver. Another film which based on a true story which I didn’t know. It pays respect to those people behind this film, it doesn’t offer you anything new or fresh as this feels rather safe, it also got a bit of pacing problem as it sometimes doesn’t hold your interest. I like the aspect of the unlikely friendships, overall, this is a good film.

The Children’s Train

In late 1940s Italy, a mother makes the difficult decision to send her son to the north, where he catches glimpses of a new life away from poverty. Quietly powerful as this film will certainly move you, the casting is spot on and they all convince in their roles. The flashback elements never get too overcomplicated and that is the key, it’s the ending that is slightly weak, despite that this is watchable and you will care about with these characters.

Frost/Nixon

A dramatic retelling of the post – Watergate television interviews between British talk – show host David Frost and former president Richard Nixon. Unpredictable film with an all star cast and they all convince in their roles. The start and the ending to this film is superb, it’s the midsection that loses it ways just a little bit, if you being patience with this film you will be rewarding, once you watch this film you will always remember this.

Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle

A human child raised by wolves must face off against a menacing tiger named Shere Khan, as well as his own origins. Eye catching film with amazing CGI/SFX. The scenery looks spectacular as it will draw you in, the first half is set in the jungle and the second half look at the culture aspect, for me personally it does work. It is another film which the midsection loses it way just a little bit. The ending is excellent as it got that emotional aspect, this is memorable.

I’ve seen Frost/Nixon and the Intouchables and agree with your reviews.
I haven’t seen the other films.
