Ordinary Angels

Inspired by the incredible true story of a hairdresser who single – handedly rallies an entire community to help a widowed father save the life of his critically ill young daughter. Firstly, this film is well casted. The idea and the story behind this film is rather good, the film itself feels rather forced and too sentimental, it might be well casted but it hard to care with these characters, it got some potential but for me personally it doesn’t quite deliver.

The Sapphires

In 1968, four talented young Australian Aboriginal girls learn about love, friendship, and war when their all – girl group The Sapphires entertains the US troops in Vietnam. I didn’t know this film based on a true story and it inspire on those people behind this film. it is well casted and they all convince in their roles, the story and the pacing are spot on, I just feel in general it doesn’t offer you anything new or fresh, it feels rather safe but despite that it is watchable.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter, Astrid, accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife. Slightly better than the first film. it got that emotional aspect; I like the relationship between the daughter and the mother and that is refreshing, the visual is amazing and eye catching. The violence can be over the top especially toward the end, also some of the jokes doesn’t quite work, this is memorable.

Kids In Love

Jack’s thinking of a gap – year traveling with a friend before college, When he meets a cute French girl and her friends in London. Not your average romantic film and that is refreshing. The acting is perfect and totally convincing, this is an all-British film which is a bonus, it could have been a five stars film. I feel in general this doesn’t gel or flow together as much, overall, this film will surprise many people as this is surprisingly good.

Where Hands Touch

A rites of passage story of a bi – racial teen named Leyna struggling for survival in Nazi Germany. Quietly powerful and this film will move you. You will care about with these characters, once you watch this film you will always remember this, this is another film that doesn’t gel or flow together as much, despite that this is intriguing and a slow burner.

Force of Nature: The Dry 2

Five women participate in a hiking retreat but only four come out the other side. Federal agents Aaron Falk and Carmen Cooper head into the mountains hoping to find their informant still alive. The key to this film is the flashback element as it never gets too overcomplicated. It got that emotional aspect which you needed, this is certainly unpredictable as it got twists and turns, it lacks the psychological edge to this film, that the only thing but this is superb.

I don’t fancy any of them. Thanks for the reviews.
