10.Shanghai Noon

A Chinese man travels to the Wild West to rescue a kidnapped Princess. After teaming up with a train robber, the unlikely duo takes on a Chinese traitor and his corrupt boss. The chemistry between Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan is spot on. It might be action packed but it never loses the story itself, the setting for this film is 19th century during the American West, I always remember this film when I rent this film from my public library, this is a superbly made film.
9.The Mummy Trilogy (1999 – 2008)

After an ancient emperor mummy comes to life, a family of archaeologists’ team up with a sacred family to stop and put down the emperor mummy before he unleashes mayhem across the land and continue what he was trying to achieve in the old days. All these films are consistent and entertaining, The films itself setting around 1926 AD, 1933 AD, and 1946 AD, with all three films they feel epic and watchable at the same time, these films are good.
8. Zorro Movie Collection (1998 – 2005)

The legendary Zorro goes off on another adventure to protect the future of California and its citizens. Both films are consistent and entertaining at the same time. The story and the acting are superb, the setting for these films are around 1820s and the 19th century in California, it has got an all – star cast and these films feels epic, these films are pure escapism and fun.
7.Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl

Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate “Captain” Jack Sparrow to save Elizabeth Swann, the governor’s daughter and his love, from Jack’s former pirate allies, who are now undead. Perfectly paced film that certainly hold your interest. Of all the Pirates Of The Caribbean films this is the best one, the setting for this film is the golden age of piracy which is 17th and 18th centuries, it has got an all-star cast, this is perfectly watchable.
6.The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan

D’Artagnan, a spirited young boy, is left for dead after trying to save a young woman from being kidnapped. When he arrives in Paris, he tries by all means to find his attackers. For the period for this film is the 17th century, specifically around 1627 France, this never goes over the top with the violence and that is refreshing, the casting is perfect, it will surprise people.
5.King Kong

Set in the 1930s, this is the story of a group of explores and documentary filmmakers who travel to the mysterious Skull Island to investigate legends of a giants gorilla named Kong. Silently this film will draw you in from start to finish. The film itself setting around the Great Depression era of 1932 – 1933, the CGI/SFX look outstanding and realistic, the pacing is just right as it certainly holds your interest, overall, this is intriguing and totally memorable.
4.Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom

In 1935, Indiana Jones is tasked by Indian villagers with reclaiming a sacred stone stolen from them by a secret cult. My childhood film as I watched this film during my early years. This film setting primarily in 1935, this never feel dated and it didn’t take itself too seriously, the set pieces is amazing as this can be exciting, it is certainly entertaining from the start.
3.The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn

Intrepid reporter Tintin and Captain Haddock set off on a treasure hunt for a sunken ship commanded by Haddock’s ancestor. One of those film that got the vibe of Indiana Jones films. The setting for this film is 1949 with some historical element, it has got an all-star vocal talent and the film itself can be funny, the animation itself is gorgeous, it is a brilliant film.
2.Mulan

To keep her ailing father from serving in the Imperial Army, a fearless young woman disguises herself as a man and battles northern invaders in China. Underrated film which is surprisingly good. The setting for this film is inspired by the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907 AD), this is funny and heartfelt at the same time, the set pieces is amazing as this feel like a thrill ride type of film, if you wanted a character driven action film this is ideal for you.
1.Puss In Boots (2011 – 2022)

Sadly, Puss in Boots, the undaunted Spanish lover and hero, is now down to the last of his nine lives, a decade after the events of Puss in Boots (2011). Having watched these films they are suitable for all ages and a family viewing. It has got elements of various time periods and culture with these films, it has got an all-stars vocal talent and brims with comic one liners, it never feels too hyperactive and that is the key, these films are heartfelt and joyous.

Waterloo (1970) Facing the decline of everything he has worked to obtain, conqueror Napoleon Bonaparte and his army confront the British at the Battle of Waterloo.
Ran (1985) In Medieval Japan, an elderly warlord retires, handing over his empire to his three sons. However, he vastly underestimates how the new-found power will corrupt them and cause them to turn on each other…and him. Based on Shakespeare’s King Lear.
The Eagle (2011) In Roman-ruled Britain, a young Roman soldier endeavors to honor his father’s memory by finding his lost legion’s golden emblem.
