10.Spider – Man (2002 – 2014)
After being bitten by a genetically – modified spider, a shy teenager gains spider – like abilities that he uses to fight injustice as a masked superhero and a vengeful enemy. All these films are consistent and fun. The villains are memorable and generally sinister, these are action packed but it never loses the story itself, it has got an all – star cast, these are watchable.
9.Captain Marvel Collection (2019 – 2023)
Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. I would say these films could divide people as some will like this and some don’t. It has got good set pieces as these are entertaining, it also didn’t take itself too seriously, the story is simple to these films, these films are superb.
8.Hulk (2003 – 2008)
After 30 years of bottling up a very traumatizing event Bruce Banner is exposed to a lethal dose of Gamma Radiation. But instead of killing him it unleashed a terrifying side of him that even he didn’t know he had. For me personally it’s the CGI/SFX that look realistic. It is another film which has got fantastic set pieces, the acting is convincing and totally believable, it is eye catching from start to finish, overall, these films are entertaining.
7.X – Men (2000 – 2006)
In a world where mutants (evolved super – powered humans) exist and are discriminated against. Having watched these film I thought wowed. It might be action packed but it never loses the story itself, the characters are great and the CGI/SFX look outstanding, it is another film that is eye catching from the start, these films are pure escapism and a rainy-day type of films.
6.X – Men Prequels (2011 – 2018)
In the 1960s, superpowered humans Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr work together to find others like them. Just breathtaking as this is eye catching and action packed. It never loses the story itself and that is the key, the characters are great and it didn’t take itself too seriously, the special effect is amazing and outstanding, these films are consistent and exciting.
5.Black Panther
T’Challa, heir to the hidden but advanced Kingdom of Wakanda, must step forward to lead his people into a new future and must confront a challenger from his country’s past. Diversity type of film which is important. The villain is perfectly sinister and memorable, it will draw you in from the start, the casting is perfect and they all convince in their roles, this film feels epic.
4.Thor
The powerful but arrogant god Thor is cast out of Asgard to live amongst humans in Midgard (Earth), where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders. Epic and old-fashioned style of film. It is funny and the characters are great, for me personally it’s the story that made this film good, it delves deep into the mythological aspect, overall, this film is superbly made.
3.DC League Of Super – Pets
The Justice League are mysteriously kidnapped; it’s up to the League of Super Pets to save their masters and defeat Lex Luthor at his own game. Being an animals superhero film. It will divide people as some will like this and some don’t, I reckon this film will surprise many people, it is charming, funny and heartfelt at the same time, it is cute and heartwarming film for all ages.
2.Wonder Woman
When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, Diana, an Amazonian warrior in training, leaves home to fight a war, discovering her full powers and true destiny. Gorgeous looking film which the pacing is spot on. This is a feminism driven film and that is refreshing, the casting is perfect and brims with comic one liner, it feels epic as this film is exciting, this is good.
1.Rise Of The Guardians
When the evil spirit Pitch launches an assault on Earth, the Immortal Guardians team up to protect the innocence of children all around the world. Calming and relatable film that will touch people heart. It is a clever spin on the superhero genre and that is refreshing, it has got an all – star vocal cast, it is exciting and it will move people, if you wanted a different superhero film this is ideal.
