Singing In The Rain

A silent film star falls for a chorus girl just as he and his delusionally jealous screen partner are trying to make the difficult transition to talking pictures in 1920s Hollywood. Personally, I admire this film that try to be something different. The musicals element is spectacular and eye catching, those are the positive in this film; it can feel stagey as this is more suitable as a stage play than a proper film, it lacks the charm but unfortunately this film didn’t quite work. It has got some potential with the story itself, for me personally this film didn’t deliver.

Sing (2016)

In a world of animals, in a way to save his theatre, a male koala makes the decision to hold a singing competition for everyone. A range of different animals with different lives come forward to try out to show everyone the talent that they all have. One of those films which has got great idea. The story is there and the soundtrack is catchy, but unfortunately it lacks the charm. Also, this isn’t laugh out loud funny, not as inspirational or uplifting as it can feel a little safe. It has got some potential there with this film, for me personally it didn’t deliver.

The Little Mermaid (1989)

A mermaid princess makes a Faustian bargain in an attempt to become human and win a prince’s love. Normally with Disney films they can be consistent and watchable. With this one the soundtrack is memorable and catchy, the animation itself is gorgeous to look at. It doesn’t delve deep into the mythological aspects, it doesn’t offer you anything new or fresh, it feels too safe and too predictable. Despite that it has got some nice moment, this is superbly made.

The Mercy (2018)

Amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst decides to make history by circumnavigating the globe in an unfinished boat. He leaves his family behind and competes in the 1968 Sunday Times Golden Globe Race. Remarkable scenery and this film will draw you in. For me personally it’s the acting that made this film good, the ending will move you as this is quietly powerful. It’s the midsection that falters just a little bit. It doesn’t gel or flow together as much, despite that this film is quite good, it isn’t a bad film as this is silently powerful and moving.

The Woman In Cabin 10

A travel writer named Laura stumbles upon a gruesome secret while traveling aboard a luxury cruise ship. Must admit something this film surprise myself as this is pretty good. It has got twist and turn at every corner; the acting is convincing and totally believable, it lacks that psychological elements for me personally, it is totally unpredictable and it will draw you in, overall if you look for a good mystery/ thriller this is ideal for you.

That Christmas

It’s an unforgettable Christmas for the townsfolk of Wellington – on – Sea when the worst snowstorm in history alters everyone’s plans, including Santa’s. Quietly this film will surprise many people. The scenery and the story are fantastic, it can be funny in places as the vocal in this film is superb, the only thing with this film it didn’t quite gel together. Despite that it will made people smile as this is a charming film, this is suitable for all ages and a family viewing.
