10.The Lost King
An amateur historian defies the stodgy academic establishment in her efforts to find King Richard III’s remains, which were lost for over 500 years. Might be too weird and surreal for some people. This film is based on a true story which I didn’t know myself, the acting is convincing and totally believable, it will draw you in from start to finish. this is an underdog type of film as this is joyous and fun, if you wanted something different this is ideal for you.
9.Allelujah (2022)
When the geriatric ward in a small Yorkshire hospital is threatened with closure, it fights back by galvanizing the local community. The hospital invites a news crew to film the preparations for a concert honouring its most distinguished nurse. Doesn’t quite gel or flow together as much. Despite that this film has got twist and turn, it is well casted as they are convincing in their roles, overall, this film is certainly memorable, I reckon this film will surprise people.
8.The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry
Harold is an ordinary man who has passed through life, living on the side lines, until he goes to post a letter one day and just keep walking. Another film which doesn’t gel or flow together as much. if you get past that it deals with a sensitive subject of suicide, this film will move you as this is silently powerful, the story is spot on and it will draw you in, it is a pretty good film.
7. Fast Girls (2012)
A street-smart runner named Shania develops an intense rivalry with an equally ambitious wealthy young athlete. It might not be groundbreaking but it still heartfelt. I like the message of chasing your dream and people will relate to that, this is a crowd pleaser as this joyous and fun, it is a feminism type of film which is important, it is a heartwarming and watchable film.
6. Yesterday
A struggling musician realizes he’s the only person on Earth who can remember The Beetles after waking up in an alternate reality where they never existed. Light-hearted and cute film that will touch people heart. the characters are great and brims with comic one liner, the main two lead got excellent chemistry together, overall, this film is perfectly watchable, it is a superb film.
5.Bank Of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger
Dave Fishwick takes on a dangerous and formidable opponent than the big banks: Payday Loan Companies. Dave recruits Jessica and Oliver to his cause. One of those film that will made you smile. This is perfectly watchable and it is an inoffensive film, it is another underdog type of film which is fun and joyous, the story is perfect and simple at the same time, this is a heartfelt film.
4.Burke And Hare
Two 19th century grave robbers who find a lucrative business providing cadavers for an Edinburgh medical school. Some people will like this and some don’t as this will divide people. The chemistry between Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis is spot on, it can be brutal but it mainly focuses on the laughs and that is refreshing, the ending is clever in this film, this is pretty good.
3.Fisherman’s Friends: One And All
Following the success of their first album, the Fisherman’s Friends struggle to adjust to their new – found fame and work towards a second album. Normally with sequels they can be weak and not so good. This one is one of the best sequels, it is funny, heartfelt and relatable film that will touch people heart, the scenery looks outstanding and it will draw you in, this is a superb film.
2.Quartet
Reggie, Wilf, Cissy and Jean are members of a quartet that vowed never to sing again. But things take a turn when they have to perform in order to save their retirement home for musicians. Too be honest with you I’m not a classical music fan. But this one is silently enjoyable and watchable, the casting is perfect and brims with comic one liner, this is another inoffensive film as this is cute and heartwarming film, overall, this is another crowd pleaser type of film.
1.Sunshine On Leith
Two soldiers named Davy and Ally return home to Edinburgh to resume their romantic and family lives. Real, honest and relatable film that will touch people heart. you will care about with these characters, this is a musicals with catchy tunes which are memorable, it is a calming type of film which you needed. The acting and the story are excellent, it will leave you a lasting impression on you.
