The Life Of Chuck

A life – affirming, genre – bending story about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz. I admire this film that try to be something different. It has got an all – star cast and those are the only positives in this film. It is overcomplicated and too many ideas within this film, it also hard to follow and I couldn’t get into it with this film. It hard to care about with these characters; I don’t want to be too harsh on this film, but I just feel this film doesn’t quite work for me personally.

After Earth

Kitai and his father Cypher crash land on Earth, 1000 years after natural disasters forced humans to flee it. Now Kitai must tread uncharted terrain to signal for help after Cypher injures himself. The chemistry between Will Smith and Jaden Smith is spot on. The story is there and it will draw you in, but unfortunately this film feel rushed and it lack the charm, the flashback element get too overcomplicated and it hard to keep up; it doesn’t stand out as much and not as memorable, I wanted to like this a bit more and for me personally it didn’t quite deliver.

Mr. Burton

Wild schoolboy and son of an alcoholic miner, Rich Jenkins is mentored by teacher Philip Burton to transform into Richard Burton – Wales’s greatest star. One of those film which has got a fantastic ending. The casting is superb as they all convince in their roles, it doesn’t offer you anything new or fresh, it feels too predictable and too safe. Despite that this film will move you, this is a slow burner type of film and overall, this film will surprise people.

Goodbye June

Follows a group of fractured siblings who must come together under sudden and trying circumstances. An all star cast which they all convince in their roles. It never feels too sentimental and that is the key, it has got a fantastic ending to this film, it might not gel or flow together as much and that is the only thing with this film, you will care about with these characters; it might not be groundbreaking but this is pretty good.

Tinsel Town

A washed – up Hollywood action hero takes a role in a small English village’s quirky Christmas pantomime, where he finds unexpected inspiration through the show’s straight – talking dance instructor. Too be honest with you I was surprised with this film. this is a feel-good experience which you needed, it is fun and joyous film that will made you smile, it doesn’t quite gel or flow together as much, despite that this is perfectly watchable and enjoyable.

Minamata (2020)

War photographer W. Eugene Smith travels back to Japan where he documents the devastating effect of mercury poisoning in coastal communities. Could be hard – hitting for some people as this film is on the verve of being bleak and depressing. It will creep you under your skin as this got the psychological aspect, the story is brilliant and it will draw you in from start to finish, it got twist and turn throughout this film. it will leave you a lasting impression on you, once you watched this film you will always remember this.
