A young girl wishes on a star and gets a more direct answer than she bargained for when a trouble – making star comes down from the sky to join her. Being a musicals this will divide people. The idea and the story behind this film is superb, the songs itself are truly memorable and genuinely catchy, the vocal in this film is spot on; overall this film is eye catching.
9.Dreambuilders
Minna, a young girl, misuses her newfound ability to create and control other people’s dreams to teach her bothersome stepsister a lesson. I admire this film as it tries to be something different. This is about divorce and family matter from a kid perspective, for me personally it certainly works; it is genuinely heartfelt and it will move you as well, it might not be groundbreaking but this is enjoyable, I reckon it will surprise many people with this film.
8.The Black Cauldron
A young boy and a group of misfit friends embark on a quest to find a dark magic item of ultimate power before a diabolical tyrant can. Having watched this film I thought it was a pretty good film. this feels epic as this is a medieval animation film, the villain itself is certainly memorable, it will draw you in from start to finish, this is silently enjoyable.
7.That Christmas
It’s an unforgettable Christmas for the townsfolk of Wellington – on – Sea when the worst snowstorm in history alters everyone’s plans, including Santa’s. Joyous and uplifting film that will made people smile. it might be predictable but it still heartfelt, the message of this film is kindness to people and that is important, it will capture people heart, this is a superb film.
6.Strange World
The legendary Clades are a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest and most crucial mission. Kids and adults will enjoy this film. this is a reimagining of Fantastic Voyage mixed in with Journey to the centre of the Earth, for me personally it certainly works; it is heartwarming and funny at the same time, this is a pure escapism type of film which you needed, if you wanted an animation film with a clever spin this is ideal for you.
5.Tarzan (2013)
Tarzan and Jane Porter face a mercenary army dispatched by the evil CEO of Greystoke Energies, a man who took over the company from Tarzan’s parents, after they died in a helicopter crash. Gorgeous looking animation film that feels epic. It is action packed but it never loses the story itself, the flashback elements never get too overcomplicated, this is more character driven than you expected, it is entertaining and heartfelt at the same time.
4.Deep Sea
A girl strays into the dreamy deep-sea world. In the deepest part of the sea, all secrets are hidden. Could be too weird and surreal for some people. If you get past that this is a beautiful film, it does deals with mental health and that is an important subject, it will leave you a lasting impression on you, once you watch this film you will always remember this.
3.Kensuke’s Kingdom
Young Michael, shipwrecked on a remote island, must adapt to life alone. Over time, he feels another presence, learning that this world is home to both unimaginable danger and beauty. A beautiful film with stunning scenery that will draw you in. it got that unlikely friendship aspect and that is refreshing, it has got a multilayered story as this is characters driven, the hand drawn animation is gorgeous to look at, it is watchable from start to finish.
2.Away (2019)
A boy crashes and finds himself on a strange island with his motorbike, where e quickly befriends a bird. Together, they cross the various landscapes of the isle in search of their home. Don’t judge this film as this is a wordless animation. It might be weird and surreal but it needed that in this film, the story is simple and it has got amazing scenery, once you watch this film you will always remember this, I reckon it will surprise many people.
1.Rise Of The Guardians
When the evil spirit Pitch launches an assault on Earth, the immortal Guardians team up to protect the innocence of children all around the world. Entertaining film which is action packed but it never loses the story itself. the balance of the darker aspect with the lighter moment is spot on, it delves deep into the mythological aspect and that is the key, it is genuinely funny with an all-star vocal cast, overall this is superb and a well-made film.
