So many great directors Mark. Can’t disagree with Spielberg and Christopher Nolan being up there. But here are some others for you to consider:
Alfred Hitchcock – the master of suspense.
The Coen Brothers – quirky and every film is different.
Mike Leigh and Ken Loach – two great British directors.
Tony Richardson – check out his wide variety of films on imdb.
Errol Morris – some of the best documentaries, Vernon Florida is a classic.
Kurosawa – great Japanese director. His Seven Samurai inspired the Magnificent Seven.
Ridley Scott – great sci-fi and horror.
Danny Boyle – have to have a local lad in the list.
