In a world behind our closet doors, monsters reign supreme. The utility company Monsters Inc, specializes in fuelling their world with the screams of human children, in the second film it focused on Mike Wazowski and James P Sullivan friendship while they at university. Both films are absolutely hilarious and with colourful characters, John Goodman and Billy Crystal is superb together as they bring out the comedy and both films in general is heartfelt.

A pragmatic palaeontologist visiting an almost complete theme park is tasked with protecting a couple of kids after a power failure causes the park’s cloned dinosaurs to run loose. Definitely this is the ultimate monsters movies as it just enjoyable and tense at the same time, it also a Steven Spielberg film and he normally crafted a brilliant story with a cast to die for in an excitement and a thrill ride type of film that is so entertaining with some jump scares, and that what made this film so special.

3.I Am Legend

Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure. One of the best Will Smith movies that bring you a poignancy film and I like the way that it blended the scary elements with the drama aspect as it work really well, plus a really cute dog in this film. Will Smith is excellent in his role and his dog companion got great chemistry together and make this film so effective.

  1. I’m surprised that you didn’t include A Monster Calls and IT Mark. I thought that they are two of your favourites in this genre.
My all time favourite monster has to be Dracula. There have been some great versions as well.
Nosferatu was an early one played by Max Schreck . Then there was Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee (probably my favourite). And not forgetting Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
