10.The Wizard Of Oz

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. A vibrant, colourful and tuneful film which certainly capture your imagination and with catchy songs and my personal favourite Over The Rainbow, the characters is eccentric but likeable in a breezy and colourful tale.

9.Journey (2008 – 2012)

Ever since his adventure in the centre of the Earth, Sean Anderson has been looking for other places mentioned by Verne and other Vernians. With stunning CGI/SFX and with an all star cast that brim with comic timing, the casting is spot on and their chemistry really does work in an entertaining film from start to finish.

8.Yogi Bear

A documentary filmmaker travels to Jellystone Park to shoot a project and soon crosses paths with Yogi Bear, his sidekick Boo – Boo and Ranger Smith. Some people will like this and some people don’t but I personally love it as it just a really cute film with well intentioned, Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake really good and it got a simple story to this film.

7.Racing Stripes

An abandoned zebra grows up believing he is a racehorse, and, with the help of his barnyard friends and a teenage girl, sets out to achieve his dream of racing with thoroughbreds. I just like this film as it got a beautiful message of being yourself and be different than anyone else, I can connect with that aspect of this film, it is one of those of film that ring true to everyone.

6.Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory

A poor but hopeful boy seeks one of the five coveted golden tickets that will send him on a tour of Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. Gene Wilder is amazing and he certainly made his role just perfect and he match the personalities of Willy Wonka, the musical element is outstanding and especially Pure Imagination as it is a quietly powerful song. It is colourful and vibrant with a feel-good type of vibe as it suitable for a family viewing and it is certainly a must watch.

5.Charlotte’s Web

Wilbur the pig is scared of the end of the season, because he knows that come that time, he will end up on the dinner table. He hatches a plan with Charlotte, a spider that lives in his pen, to ensure that this will never happen. One of the most beautiful film with a beautiful simple story that all ages will love this film, it got an all-star vocal talent which is magnificent and bring some comic timing which is certainly needed. Superb CGI/SFX made this heart-warming but likeable and well – made film.

4.Paddington (2014 – 2017)

Paddington having settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, has become popular in his community, offering people emotional support in various ways. Laugh out loud funny and this film is generally heartfelt and I love the character of Paddington as he mean well but a bit of idiot, who helping people a lot but with hilarious consequences and a load of slapstick moments, it is well cast and it just an uplifting film and it is so nice to watch.

3.Ferdinand

After Ferdinand, a bull with a big heart, is mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Much better than the Ice Age and Rio films as this one is far more superior, the plot is so simple and beautiful and with great characters. I can connect to this film as it about just being true to yourself and don’t be someone else, definitely a must watch.

2.Homeward Bound (1993 – 1996)

Shadow, Sassy and Chance are back! It’s been three years since their trek through the woods and over mountains. Now the family lives in San Francisco and they taking a vacation in Canada. Brilliant cinematography and with cute looking animals that is so engrossing from start to finish, the premise is gorgeous and everyone will fallen in love with this adventure yarn that is fun.

1.Despicable Me (2010 – 2013)

As Gru, the despicable former super – villain with a heart of gold, gradually settles into a new life of fatherhood and jelly – making with his adorable three girls. The reason why I put this first it is definitely suitable for adult and kids alike, the story is easy to follow and with eccentric different characters. It is funny, charming, likeable and intelligent film with a star-studded cast and with cracking one liner, in a likeable and sincere film.

  1. These all look like good family films for the holiday period. I know some of them like the Wizard of Oz and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I’m surprised that you didn’t include any religious themed films to suit the Easter festival.
