The Reason I Jump
Based on the book by Naoki Higashida, this immersive film explores the experience of non – speaking autistic people around the world. I loved the subject matter and it has got potential to be a great documentary, but unfortunately it doesn’t moved me and I thought I would connect to this documentary as I got friends who got autistic, it is one of those that is hard to connect with and it not as memorable enough.
A noble family becomes embroiled in a war for control over the galaxy’s most valuable asset while its heir becomes troubled by visions of a dark future. Too be honest with you I thought I would enjoyed this film as I loved science fiction films, it also got a star – studded cast but for me personally it is hard to follow and it is rather overcomplicated, it certainly overlong and it doesn’t hold your interest and it is rather overhyped, it is such a shame as I wanted to like it a bit more.
The Croods: A New Age
The prehistoric family the Croods are challenged by a rival family the Bettermans, who claim to be better and more evolved. A well-intentioned film that can be rather funny and I really like the story, the thing is, it can be safe and none of the vocal talent is nothing special and it didn’t quite reach the height of other DreamWorks animation films, but despite that it is bright and colourful.
Puff: Wonders Of The Reef
A baby pufferfish travels through a wondrous microworld full of fantastical creatures as he searches for a home on the Great Barrier Reef. Eye catching and it is wonderful to look at and it is bright and colourful, it can be rather safe and it does feel like a one-off programmed that made for television, this documentary is certainly not rubbish but it is well – made.
Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Adventure
A coming – of – age story set in the suburbs of Houston, Texas in the summer of 1969, centred around the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. This is surprisingly really good and it is enjoyable and it is intriguing and different which I admire, the animation itself look gorgeous and it is clever and intelligent with superb vocal talent, if you wanted something different this is ideal for you and the only thing is the midsection falters and loses a bit of momentum, but it still a brilliant film.
The story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath, which includes the city – wide manhunt to find the terrorists responsible. One of the most moving and sincere film that will moved people, the first half is about the bombing and the second half is rather political and it will drawn you in. the ending is poignancy as it based on a true story it actually stay faithful to the survivors, it will leaves you a lasting impression on you as this is real, honest, and memorable.
