Millennium Actress

A TV interviewer and his cameraman meet a former actress and travel through her memories and career. Firstly, I really admire this for being different and it has got a brilliant story plus overall it got potential, but it certainly failed on the emotional aspect and you don’t really care about with these characters, it is such a shame but unfortunately it doesn’t really work.

Belfast

A young boy named Buddy and his working – class Belfast family experience the tumultuous late 1960s. This is one of those film that is well made and the soundtrack is absolutely amazing and the acting is superb, the story is there and overall, this is a good film, the pacing is perfect but unfortunately it didn’t have that emotional impact and it didn’t leave you a lasting impression on you, this is the type of film that should be moved you but it doesn’t do that.

Marry Me

Music superstars Kat Valdez and Bastian are getting married before a global audience of fans. But when Kat learns, second before her vows, that Bastian has been unfaithful, she instead decides to marry Charlie, a stranger in the crowd. Likeable and a well-meaning film and the acting is really good, it is cute and heartwarming and the first hour is really good and totally convincing, it is such a shame the final third of this film is not quite there and it has got a poor ending, but despite that it actually a good film.

The 355

When a top-secret weapon falls into mercenary hands, a wild card CIA agent join forces with three international agents on a lethal mission to retrieve it, while staying a step ahead of a mysterious woman who’s tracking their every move. In some way this film actually surprised me and this is totally action packed, it has got a brilliant story and it is rather character driven and it is unpredictable, the only thing is, it can be slightly inconsistent but it is definitely exciting and with amazing set pieces.

Drifting Home

Follows two childhood friends named Kosuke and Natsume who drift into a mysterious sea with an entire housing complex. Beautiful and a sincere film that will moved you and it have got fantastic scenery, it never gets too overcomplicated as there are flashback and that does work really well, the only thing is, it can get slightly surreal and that doesn’t really needed in this film and it leaves you a lasting impression on you, it is totally memorable and this is superbly made.

Pinocchio (2022)

A puppet is brought to life by a fairy, who assigns him to lead a virtuous life in order to become a real boy. Personally I don’t get the haters as this is magical and the visual is outstanding as the vocal in this film is superb, this is pure escapism and it is cute and heartwarming and the rest of the cast is really good, I really like the ending to this film as this is a nearly perfect film but the musical aspect doesn’t really work, none of the songs are catchy but despite that it is a gorgeous looking film that will wowed you.

I thought the photography in Belfast was excellent. I haven’t seen any of the others to comment.

I see what you mean and especially from the start, because at first the film is in colour and then it went in black and white and that is really clever in a well – made film,
