April 6th, 1917. As an infantry battalion assembles to wage war deep in enemy territory, two soldiers are assigned to race against time and deliver a message that will stop 1,600 men from walking straight into a deadly trap. This film feels totally epic and it has got stunning set pieces that is generally exciting, I know Benedict Cumberbatch has got a smaller role but he is really good and overall, this is engrossing, the two lead is likeable and this is a well – made film.

4.The Imitation Game

During World War II, the English mathematical genius Alan Turing tries to crack the German Enigma code with help from fellow mathematicians while attempting to come to terms with his troubled private life. It is one of those film which has got a brilliant story, the casting is spot on and it is well casted and this is definitely intriguing, it also a superbly crafted film which drawn you in.

3.The Hobbit (2012 – 2014)

A reluctant Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, sets out on a quest with a spirited group of dwarves, and also battle a war against an array of combatants and keep the Lonely Mountain from falling into the hands of a rising darkness. Perfectly paced films and it has got an all – star cast and they are really convincing, the vocal of the two dragons by Benedict Cumberbatch is perfectly sinister and this is eye catching from start to finish, it is a rainy-day type of films and they are all consistent.

2.War Horse

Young Albert enlists to serve in World War I after his beloved horse is sold to the cavalry. Albert’s hopeful journey takes him out of England and to the front lines as the war rages on. Silently powerful and it will leaves you a lasting impression on you, it is generally moving and it never feel forced and not too sentimental, it has got stunning scenery and it about an unlikely friendship and it definitely the best Steven Spielberg film.

1.The Electrical Life Of Louis Wain

English artist Louis Wain rises to prominence at the end of the 19th century for his surreal cat painting that seemed to reflect his declining sanity. A film which is about life in generally and some people will like this and some don’t. it might be surreal and weird but it actually needed it, in this film and the acting is absolutely amazing, the story is brilliant and this is relatable and overall, this is so underrated, it will leaves you a lasting impression on you and this is so memorable.

  1. I entirely agree with you selecting 1917, War Horse, and The Hobbit. I haven’t seen The Imitation Game or The Electrical Life of Louis Wain.
    I would also add his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes on TV and Frankenstein where he took turns in playing the doctor and the monster with the other actor.
    Also, although not universally liked, I did enjoy his playing of Dr Strange.

  2. I’m surprised that you haven’t see The Imitation Game as that based on a true story, you will definitely like The Electrical Life of Louis Wain as it is quirky, and it based on a true story. I have seen Sherlock on TV and that is really good, Frankenstein is on stage and when it appears on TV, I will watch it. I think personally I should watch Doctor Strange again
