10.Gran Torino

After a Hmong teenager tries to steal his prized 1972 Gran Torino, a disgruntled, prejudiced Korean War veteran seeks to redeem both the boy and himself. Once I watch this you won’t forget this film as this is memorable, the story is fantastic and you will care with these characters as this is character driven, this doesn’t feel forced or too sentimental as this is quietly powerful, this is a slow burner type of film and it slowly drawn you in from start to finish.

9.Everybody’s Fine

A widower who realized his only connection to his family was through his wife sets off on an impromptu road trip to reunite with each of his grown children. It is one of those film that is likeable and this is one of the best Robert DeNiro films, it got an all – star cast and they are convincing in their roles, overall, if you wanted a film that about appreciation of your families this is ideal for you, this is charming and sad at the same time as this is relatable to people.

8.Goodbye Christopher Robin

The relationship between writer AA Milne and his son, Christopher Robin, and how this became the inspiration for Winnie the Pooh. This is like a father and son relationship type of film and that does works, it also has got a multilayered story as this watchable and the film itself look gorgeous, it is well casted and this will touch people heart as this will move you, you will care about with these characters, this is superb and overall, this is a well – made film.

7.The Danish Girl

A fictitious love story loosely inspired by the lives of Danish artists Lili Elba and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda’s marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili’s groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer. An inspiration film about being different and stand out from the crowd, I personally connect with this film because of this message, the chemistry between the two lead is spot on as the acting is amazing, this is a beautiful film and this will move you from start to finish.

6.The Orphanage

A woman brings her family back to her childhood home, which used to be an orphanage for handicapped children. Before long, her son starts to communicate with an invisible new friend.  Personally, this is my favourite horror film and not many of them will move you, it’s all in the ending to this film as this is about the afterlife and don’t let this put you off, it got that psychological element as this is unpredictable, this is superbly made as this is a must watch.

5.Kubo And The Two Strings

A young boy named Kubo must locate a magical suit of armour worn by his late father in order to defeat a vengeful spirit from the past. Eye catching animation film with a brilliant and moving ending, the scenery look fantastic and it has got great characters and the vocal in this film is superb. It got an easy-to-follow story that is simple for the younger generation, this is a coming-of-age film and it explore the mythological as there is a backstory, this is sincere and a heartfelt film.

4.The Bucket List

Two terminally ill men escape from a cancer ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to – dos before they die. Normally with terminal illness film they can feel rather forced and too sentimental, with this one it feels real and honest and the chemistry between Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman is brilliant, it can be funny in places and this is sad and uplifting at the same time, this is a beautiful film and this is quietly powerful.

3.A Man Called Ove

Ove, an ill – tempered, isolated retiree who spends his days enforcing block association rules and visiting his wife’s grave, has finally given up on life just as an unlikely friendship develops with his boisterous new neighbour. For me personally this is one of the best subtitle films as this is about life in general, it will leave you a lasting impression on you as this is a memorable film, it is one of those film that feels real, this is superb and this is a slow burner type of film.

2.The Impossible

The story of a tourist family in Thailand caught in the destruction and chaotic aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Being based on a true story and this is a disasters film and sometimes it can get too hyperactive and not being real, with this one it has got great acting and this can be heartbreaking, but underneath it all there is a good moral of hope, determination and not giving up, I’m sure people will connect with this film and this is brilliant.

1.Up

78-year-old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his house equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway. With Pixar they always consistent and entertaining and for me personally Up is the best, it is funny and charming and it will touch people heart especially the start of this film, this is cute and heartwarming plus this is suitable for all ages and a family viewing, this is a rain day film and this is pure escapism as this is a fantastic looking film.
