5.Isle Of Dogs

An outbreak of dog flu has spread through the city of Megasaki, Japan, and Mayor Kobayashi has demanded all dogs to be sent to Trash Island. On the island, a young boy named Atari sets out to finds his lost dog, Spots, with the help of five other dogs with many obstacles along the way. If you wanted something different this is ideal for you, this has got an all – star cast and their vocal is spot on, underneath the weirdness there is a beautiful story to this film, I also admire this film that try to be something different and for me personally it’s work.

4.Pinocchio (Guillermo Del Toro)

A father’s wish magically brings a wooden boy to life in Italy, giving him a chance to care for the child. Gorgeous looking film and it slowly drawn you in from start to finish, the characters are great and this is memorable and the ending is fantastic, plus this is superbly made and the film itself will move you and it doesn’t feel too forced or too sentimental, it might not be suitable for the younger generation, but if you get past that this is a beautiful film and it is well-made.

3.Away (2019)

A boy crashes and finds himself on a strange island with his motorbike, where he quickly befriends a bird. Together they cross the various landscapes of the isle in search of their home. With outstanding visual and this is pure escapism and this is watchable, it might be for everyone but this is silently engrossing and you will go on a journey with this film, the animation itself is gorgeous to look at and the scenery look amazing, you should give this film a chance.

2.Wendell & Wild

Two scheming demon brothers, Wendell and Wild, enlist the aid of 13-year-old Kat Elliot to summon them to the Land of the Living. One of those film with a multi layered story and you will care about with these characters, this will move you as this is quietly powerful and it also memorable as well, it will leave you a lasting impression on you and this will capture people heart as this is relatable, for me personally this is underrated and this is a beautiful and brilliant film.

1.Rango

Rango is an ordinary chameleon who accidentally winds up in the town of Dirt, a lawless outpost in the Wild West in desperate need of a new sheriff. My personal favourite film because of the moral of being yourself and don’t be someone else, just stay true to yourself and I personally connect with that message, this is exciting as it got amazing set pieces, it is funny at the same time and it has got great characters, the scenery is outstanding and this has got an all star vocal cast, the story is there and this is a superb film.

  1. I would have included Isle of Dogs as well Mark. Here’s some others to consider:
    The Beatles – Yellow Submarine (1968) – surreal and good music
    Fantasia (1940) – Disney short films to accompany classical music pieces
    Alice (1988) – weirdest version of a surreal story by Jan Svankmajer
    Nightmare before Christmas (1993)
