10.The Shining

A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where a sinister presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from both past and future. An old-fashioned type of film which silently creep you under your skin, this is totally unpredictable and this is memorable from start to finish, it might be rather dated for some people but it works and generally hold your interest, if you give this a chance, you will be rewarding with a brilliant film.

9.It (2017 – 2019)

Twenty-seven years after their first encounter with the terrifying Pennywise, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back. Coming of age and character driven film and you will care about with these characters, Bill Skarsgard is superb as the villain and there is a good backstory to these films, if you get past the brutal element there is an amazing story with this film, it is one of those films that is well – made.

8.Orphan

A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she appears. Being a child horror film could go either way but it certainly works, Isabelle Fuhrman is excellent as the main lead, this is one of the best films from Jaume collet – Serra and this film is watchable from the start, this isn’t your usual slasher film as it got a superb twist and the film in general is unpredictable, it got a brilliant cast and this is surprisingly good.

7.The Haunted Mansion (2003)

A realtor and his wife and children are summoned to a mansion, which they soon discover is haunted, and while they attempt to escape, he learns an important lesson about the family he has neglected. Don’t judge this film as this is entertaining and general funny, the CGI/SFX is truly spectacular and eye catching as well, the balance of lighter moment with the darker element and for me personally it needed that, this is a thrill ride type of film which is exciting.

6.Paranormal Activity

After moving into a suburban home, a couple becomes increasingly disturbed by a nightly demonic presence. Everything about this found footage film seems intriguing from start to finish, it has got great jump scares and it is silently drawn you in, this is an underrated film and once you watched this you would agree with me, it is one of the best found footage film that out there.

5.The Others

In 1945, immediately following the end of Second World War, a woman who lives with her two photosensitive children on her darkened old family estate in the Channel Islands becomes convinced that the home is haunted. Fantastic looking film with stunning cast plus this is one of the best Nicole Kidman films, this is super creepy and totally unpredictable but at the same time this is watchable, this is memorable from start to finish, this is remarkable a good film.

4.The Secret Of Marrowbone

In 1960s rural America, a young man and his three younger siblings, who have kept secret the death of their beloved mother in order to remain together, are plagued by a sinister presence in the sprawling manor in which they live. Having watched this film, I thought wowed as this is silently moving, the ending is superb and the acting is amazing and totally convincing, it slowly drawn you in from start to finish, for me personally this is so underrated and a well-made film.

3.Wendell & Wild

Two scheming demon brothers, Wendell and Wild, enlist the aid of 13-year-old Kat Elliot to summon them to the Land of the Living. It is one of those film that will surprise you as this got a multilayered story, there is an emotional core to this film and it will leave you a lasting impression on you, the moral is being different and appreciated your family, I’m sure people will connect with this message and this is beautiful, the animation itself look amazing and eye catching.

2.The Orphanage (2007)

A woman brings her family back to her childhood home, which used to be an orphanage for handicapped children. Before long, her son starts to communicate with an invisible new friend. Gorgeous and a heartbreaking film which is about the afterlife, not all psychological horror film moved you and the ending is beautiful, it will leave you a lasting impression on you and this is memorable, the acting is convincing and totally believable and it got a real sense of mysteries.

1.Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were – Rabbit

Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit, set out to discover the mystery behind the garden sabotage that plagues their village and threatens the annual giant vegetable growing contest. Just breathtaking and this is pure escapism, it also balances the lighter moment with the darker aspect and for me personally it needed that, it is laugh out loud funny and this is like a childlike werewolf type of film, the characters are great and likeable and the vocal in this film is spot on, this is an enjoyable film.
