Fantastic Fungi is a descriptive time lapse journey about the magical, mysterious, and medicinal world of fungi and their power to heal, sustain and contribute to the regeneration of life on Earth that began 3.5 billion years ago. Eye catching documentary and Brie Larson is stunning as the narrator, this documentary try to be something different which I admire, it might not be for everyone but you got to admire this documentary, this is intriguing and generally interesting.
9.Searching For Sugar Man

Two South Africans set out to discover what happened to their unlikely musical hero, the mysterious 1970s rock n roller, Rodriguez. For me personally it’s the subject matter that is intriguing, it like going on a journey with these people and this is well made, the music in this documentary is generally catchy, overall, it will draw you in from start to finish, this is well made.
8.Pavarotti

Filmmaker Ron Howard examines the life and career of famed opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, featuring never before seen footage, concert performances, and intimate interviews with family and colleagues. It is one those documentary, which is quietly powerful, it also goes in depths with the man himself Pavarotti, this will move you as the musical element is amazing, this is superb.
7.Rising Phoenix

The history and current standing of the Paralympic Games, which has grown to become the world’s third largest sporting event. Having watched this I thought wowed, this is truly inspirational and you will care about with these people, it never feels too forced or too sentimental as this is about overcome many obstacles, also about appearances which I personally connect, it is one of those documentary which is life affirming, this is relatable for people as this will touch your heart.
6.Jiro Dreams Of Sushi

A documentary on 85-year-old sushi master Jiro Ono, his renowned Tokyo restaurant, and his relationship with his son and eventual heir, Yoshikazu. Give this documentary a chance as you don’t have to like sushi, this is joyous and uplifting at the same time, it will made you smile as this is a likeable documentary, if you wanted something light-hearted, this is ideal for you and this is likeable.
5.Crip Camp

Down the road from Woodstock, a revolution blossomed at a ramshackle summer camp for teenagers with disabilities, transforming their lives and igniting a landmark movement. A wonderful documentary with a good subject matter, it never gets too overcomplicated with the flashback element and all of it gel well together, this documentary is certainly memorable, so overall it will draw you in from start to finish, this is an excellent documentary.
4.David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived

A coming-of-age documentary of Daniel Radcliffe and his stunt double David Holmes, whose close friendship endures a life – changing accident. Being a film fan you don’t have to love the Harry Potter films, behind the message it about kindness and this is a likeable documentary, in some ways this will made you smile with the friendship aspect, it is sad and uplifting at the same time, as this is worth the watch and you won’t be disappointed.
3.Otto Baxter: Not A F**king Horror Story

We follow Otto Baxter, a 35-year-old man with Down Syndrome, over six years, as he writes and directs a foul mouthed, autobiographical comedy – horror – musical set in Victorian London. Don’t judge this documentary as it can be rather full on, it also goes in depths with the subject matter and that is refreshing, I personally connect with this and this touch my heart and this is powerful, it also tries to be something different which I admire, it will leave you a lasting impression on you.
2.The Eagle Huntress

Thirteen-year-old Aisholpan trains to become the first female in twelve generations of her nomad family to become an eagle huntress. Just breathtaking as this is a feminism type of film, it also a diversity documentary which is important and the scenery is outstanding, it about chasing your dream and this is relatable for people and for myself, it will wow you as this will move you.
1.My Octopus Teacher

A filmmaker forges an unusual friendship with an octopus living in a South African kelp forest, learning as the animal shares the mysteries of her world. Calming and comfort documentary that will made you smile, the underwater aspect is amazing and the unlikely friendship element is there, this is heartfelt, honest, and real as this relatable, it has got stunning scenery and it will leave you a lasting impression on you, the ending is superb as this is easy to watch, this is amazing.
Now, this is one of my favourite genres. There are some great documentary makers.
