10.Herbie Fully Loaded (Angela Robinson)

Maggie Peyton, the new owner of Herbie, Number 53, the free – wheeling Volkswagen bug with a mind of its own, puts the car through its paces on the road to becoming a NASCAR competitor.   Some people will like this and some don’t as this will divide people, I like the message of believe in yourself and follow your dreams, I’m sure people will connect with that aspect and this is a feel-good experience, this is an underdog type of film and this will made you smile.

9.Burke And Hare (John Landis)

Two 19th century grave robbers who find a lucrative business providing cadavers for an Edinburgh medical school. Another film which certainly divide people, this is generally funny and this is well casted as well, it also balances the darker element with the comedy aspect and for me personally it works, if you wanted something different this is ideal for you, overall, this is a well-made film.

8.Parasite (Bong Joon Ho)

Greed and class discrimination threaten the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan. Could be rather full on for certain people, it has got a brilliant twist and this is totally memorable, it got that psychological edge to this film and this is generally unpredictable, it is up there with one of the best foreign films, this is a superb film.

7.Everybody’s Fine (Kirk Jones)

A widower who realized his only connection to his family was through his wife sets off on an impromptu road trip to reunite with each of his grown children. Might be on the verve of too sentimental and rather forced, the main lead is likeable and this has got a brilliant story, it got great characters and this is easy to watch, overall, it is sad but it also an uplifting film as well.

6.Official Secrets (Gavin Hood)

The true story of a British whistleblower who leaked information to the press about an illegal NSA spy operation designed to push the UN Security Council into sanctioning to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Personally, if you into true story type of film, this is ideal for you and the acting is believable and convincing, once you watch this you will always remember this, this film is memorable.

5.Balloon /2018 (Michael Herbig)

East Germany, 1979. After initially failing to flee from the East to the West in a self – built hot – air balloon, two families struggle to make a second attempt, while the East German State Police are chasing them. One of those film which is slower paced but it certainly unpredictable, this is a character driven film and that is refreshing, it will slowly draw you in from start to finish, if you wanted a character driven film with a slower paced, this film is suitable for you.

4.The Pale Blue Eye (Scott Cooper)

A world-weary detective is hired to investigate the murder of a West Point cadet. Stymied by the cadet’s code of silent, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe. Gothic style of film with a brilliant twist at the end, this is quietly powerful and this is certainly memorable, it also totally unpredictable and the scenery is outstanding, if you wanted a perfect gothic whodunit type of film, this is a suitable film for you.

3.Motherless Brooklyn (Edward Norton)

In 1950s New York, Lionel, a private detective with Tourette syndrome, sets out to uncover the mystery behind his mentor and only friend Frank’s murder. Scouring the jazz clubs and slums of Brooklyn, he soon uncovers a web of secrets. The pacing to this film is superb as it does hold your interest, it got an all star cast and they all convince in their roles, the ending will move you and the story is brilliant, it is one of those film that will keep you guessing, this is a superb film.

2.A Man Called Ove (Hannes Holm)

Ove, an ill – tempered, isolated retiree who spends his days enforcing block association rules and visiting his wife’s grave, has finally given up on life just as an unlikely friendship develops with his boisterous new neighbours. Beautiful film that will capture people heart, it might be a sensitive topic for certain people as it deals with suicide, it also about life in general and it will leave you a lasting impression on you, the flashback element never gets too overcomplicated, this is beautiful.

1.The Breadwinner (Nora Twomey)

In 2001, Afghanistan is under the control of the Taliban. When her father is captured, a determined young girl disguises herself as a boy in order to provide for her family. You will care about with these character, it is a diversity type of film and that is important, the scenery is outstanding and this is eye catching, it is one of those film that will leave you a lasting impression on you. It might be brutal but it needed that in this film, this is heartfelt.
