5.Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction level event. One of those film that is action packed but it never loses the story itself, it is an all stars cast and they all convince in their roles, it can be rather brutal in places but if you get past that, it is entertaining with amazing set pieces.

4.Society Of The Snow

The flight of a rugby team crashes on a glacier in the Andes. The few passengers who survive the crash find themselves in one of the world’s toughest environments to survive. Stunning scenery and this film is quietly powerful, it also perfectly paced as it does hold your interest, I like the way it shies away from the violence and that is refreshing, it could be slightly full on for certain people but despite that, once you watch this you will remember this film, this is well made.

3.The Orphanage (2007)

A woman brings her family back to her childhood home, which used to be an orphanage for handicapped children. Before long, her son starts to communicate with an invisible new friend. Quietly this psychological horror film will move you, it deals with the afterlife and the twist and the ending is superb, it will draw you in from start to finish as this is intriguing, in general this film will surprise people, for me personally this is one of the best psychological horror films.

2.The Impossible

The story of a tourist family in Thailand caught in the destruction and chaotic aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. You will care about with these characters but this can be hard to watch, it is powerful as the message is determination and never giving up in life, people will connect with that aspect, the acting is amazing as this will move you, this is a superbly made film.

1.A Monster Calls

Conor, a twelve-year-old boy, encounters an ancient tree monster who proceeds to help him cope with his mother’s terminal illness and being bullied in school. Normally with terminal illness film they can feel forced or too sentimental, not this one as it blended the animation aspect with the drama element and that does works, I personally connect with this film as this is relatable, it is heartfelt and it will touch people heart, plus it will leave you a lasting impression on you.
