One of those documentaries which can be hard to watch for some people, it also deals with a sensitive topic, but it will draw you in from start to finish. This will never bored you at all as this is good, this also intriguing as well, you will always remember this.

9.Pavarotti

Filmmaker Ron Howard examines the life and career of famed opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, featuring never before seen footage, concert performances, and intimate interviews with family and colleagues. You don’t have to be a massive opera fan to see this documentary, this is certainly intriguing from the start, it is eye catching as it slowly draws you in, it is well made.

8.Rising Phoenix

The history and current standing of the Paralympic Games, which has grown to become the world’s third largest sporting event. A touching documentary that will touch your heart, you will care about with these people who inspires this documentary. It feels like you can go on a journey with this, once the people tell their personal journey it will move you, it is superbly made.

7.Jiro Dreams Of Sushi

A documentary on 85-year-old sushi master Jiro Ono, his renowned Tokyo restaurant, and his relationship with his son and eventual heir, Yoshikazu. Feel good experience documentary that will made you smile, it is joyous and uplifting at the same time. You don’t have to be a fan of sushi as this will surprise many people, it is calming and gentle as this is inoffensive, this is wonderful.

6.Crip Camp

Down the road from Woodstock, a revolution blossomed at a ramshackle summer camp for teenagers with disabilities, transforming their lives and igniting a landmark movement. Never gets too overcomplicated with the flashback element, it also intriguing from start to finish. As it got a good subject matter, it like an underdog type of documentary, it will touch people heart.

5.David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived

A coming-of-age documentary of Daniel Radcliffe and his stunt double David Holmes, whose close friendship endures a life – changing accident. The message behind this documentary is kindness with an unlikely friendship aspect, it is generally funny and heartwarming at the same time. It will move you as this is heartfelt and powerful, it is real and honest and you will connect with this.

4.Otto Baxter: Not A F**king Horror Story

We follow Otto Baxter, a 35-year-old man with Down Syndrome, over six years, as he writes and directs a foul – mouthed, autobiographical comedy – horror – musical set in Victorian London. It could be rather full on for some people, it delves deep into the subject matter and that is important, I admire this documentary as it tries to be something different, it will touch your heart.

3.The Eagle Huntress

Thirteen-year-old Aisholpan trains to become the first female in twelve generations of her nomad family to become an eagle huntress. With stunning scenery and with a diversity element to this documentary, it from a teenage woman perspective which I admire. Once you watch this you will always remember this, it about life in general and people will connect with this, it is beautiful.

2.Jim Henson: Idea Man

This documentary will feature interviews of fans of Jim Henson’s work, interspersed with footage from Jim Henson’s works, including Wilkins and Wontkins Commercials that was previously lost. Personally, this is wonderful to look at as it is intriguing, the message behind this is overcoming many obstacles and chasing your dreams. I personally connect with that and it got that emotional aspect, it will leave you a lasting impression on you, this documentary is certainly memorable.

1.My Octopus Teacher

A filmmaker forges an unusual friendship with an octopus living in a South African kelp forest, learning as the animal shares the mysteries of her world. Calming and a gentle documentary that is watchable, it deals with loneliness, with some aspect of mental health, plus the natural world. I connect with those messages in this documentary, it will leave you a lasting impression on you as this is powerful, it never feels too forced or too sentimental, this is inspirational and memorable.

    Here’s some I recommend:

    The Fog of War (2003) – Errol Morris is the king of documentary makers. This won the Oscar in 2004.

    Senna (2010) – Brazilian Formula One racing driver Ayrton Senna, who won the F1 world championship three times before his death at age 34.

    Searching for Sugar Man (2012) – Two South Africans set out to discover what happened to their unlikely musical hero, the mysterious 1970s rock n roller, Rodriguez.

    Man on Wire (2008) – Tightrope walker Philippe Petit’s daring, but illegal, high-wire routine performed between New York City’s World Trade Center’s twin towers in 1974, what some consider, “the artistic crime of the century”.

    Grizzly Man (2005) – A devastating take on grizzly bear activists Timothy Treadwell and Amie Huguenard, who were killed in October of 2003 while living among grizzly bears in Alaska. Music by Richard Thompson – a personal favourite.
