Beetlejuice

The spirits of a deceased couple are harassed by an unbearable family that has moved into their home, and hire a malicious spirit to drive them out. Firstly, I admire this film that try to be something different, it is well casted and the idea and the story behind this film is spot on, for me personally this isn’t as funny as it supposed to be. It also struggles with the balance of the darker elements with the lighter aspect, this has got great potential but it didn’t deliver.

This Is Christmas

This rom – com set in London during the Christmas season follows Adam and Emma on their daily commute from the village of Langton to London, where they meet the same passengers every day. A film that is easy to follow as this is watchable from start to finish, the two main leads have got superb chemistry together, I just feel in general this seems to be rather safe and doesn’t offer you another new or fresh. It also seems rather predictable as well plus this isn’t a bad film, if you wanted an inoffensive film this is ideal for you.

The Proposal

When New York editor Margaret faces deportation, she convinces her assistant Andrew to marry her in return for a promotion. However, when she visits his hometown, it changes her in many ways. Enjoyable film which is a feel-good experience. Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock chemistry is perfect, the film itself seems rather rushed and it doesn’t gel or flow together as much, it has got some nice moment in this film, this is watchable from start to finish.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Gromit’s concerned that Wallace has become over – dependent on his inventions, which proves justified when Wallace invents a “smart gnome” that seems to develop a mind of its own. Cute and heartwarming film that will made you smile, the characters are great as the vocal is spot on. The only thing with this film it lacks the charm of their previous films, this is suitable for all ages and a family viewing, it is inoffensive film that will capture people heart.

Carry – On (2024)

A mysterious traveller blackmails a young TSA agent into letting a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Eve flight. Not your typical action film with no story as this is character study, it is totally unpredictable and it will made you think. The villain is certainly memorable and perfectly sinister, it slowly draws you in from the start as the pacing is perfect, the acting is convincing and totally believable and that is the key to this film.

Joy (2024)

3 trailblazers: a young nurse, a visionary scientist and an innovative surgeon face opposition from the church, state, media, and medical establishment in their pursuit of the world’s first ‘test tube baby’ Louise Joy Brown. Once you watch this you will always remember this. The acting is amazing and totally believable, it might be a sensitive topic but the film itself tries to be uplifting, for me personally it certainly works. It will leave you a lasting impression on you as this is a truly inspirational film.

I’ve just watched Vengeance Most Fowl. The guy who has taken over Wallace’s voice is spot on. I also liked Peter Kay as the police inspector and Reece Shearsmith as the robot.
I didn’t fancy going to see Joy at the cinema, but I might give it a go now after reading your review.
