Swimming With Men

A man who is suffering a mid – life crisis finds new meaning in his life as part of an all – male, middle – aged, amateur synchronised swimming team. All-British type of film with a good story. The idea behind this film is superb, but unfortunately the film itself feels like a television made type of film, it also hard to care about with these characters. Too be fair with the acting they all convince in their roles, it could have been something special but it didn’t deliver.

Just Cause

A Harvard professor is lured back into the courtroom after twenty – five years to take the case of a young black man condemned to death for the horrific murder of a child. The first hour of this film is superb. Plus the story and the idea behind this film is brilliant, for me personally I didn’t think much of the twist itself, also the violence toward the end can be rather over the top. Despite that it slowly draws you in, it might not be perfect but it still good.

The Heat

An uptight FBI Special Agent is paired with a foul – mouthed Boston cop to take down a ruthless drug lord. Underneath the violence and the sweary aspect there is a brilliant story. The start of this film is excellent also the unlikely friendship element, the film itself can feel hyperactive and not as subtle, without that this isn’t a bad film, overall, this is a well – made film.

Nonnas

After losing his beloved mother, a man risks everything to honour her by opening an Italian restaurant with actual grandmothers as the chefs. One of those film that will surprise you. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much and it certainly surprise myself; the casting is perfect as this is a crowd pleaser, it nearly perfect but I just feel it doesn’t gel or flow together as much, this is watchable from start to finish, it is enjoyable and joyous type of film.

Only The Brave

Based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of elite firefighters who risk everything to protect a town from a historic wildfire. Being based on a true story it inspires on those people behind this film. this is a slow burner disasters type of film, it has got an all-star cast and they all convince in their roles, it is another film that doesn’t gel or flow together as much. Toward the end it certainly powerful, overall, this film is certainly memorable.

Surf’s Up

A behind the scenes look at the annual Penguin World Surfing Championship, and its newest participant, up and comer Cody Maverick. I admire this film that try to be something different. You will care about with these characters, the vocal in this animation film is spot on. It is funny and heartwarming at the same time, it is heartfelt and powerful plus it would move you, if you wanted a different type of animation film this is ideal for you.

I’ll watch out for Just Cause
