It doesn’t feel rushed and the CGI/SFX is truly outstanding, the only thing with this film, the ending is slightly weak, if you wanted a mystery/ Sci – Fi film this is ideal for you.

9.Wonka

With dreams of opening a shop in a city renowned for its chocolate, a young and poor Willy Wonka discovers that the industry is run by a cartel of greedy chocolatiers. Fantastic looking film with an all-star cast, this is more character driven and the musical set pieces is amazing, the story is simple despite the film itself feels rather cartoony, overall, this film is certainly memorable.

8.The Salt Path

A couple lose their home and later discover the husband has been diagnosed with a terminal illness as they embark on a year long coastal trek. Being based on a true story it inspires those people behind this film. the acting is amazing and totally believable, it is quietly powerful and it will move you, it didn’t quite gel or flow together as much, despite that this is watchable.

7.Back To The Outback

Tired of being locked in a reptile house where humans gawk at them like they’re monsters, a group of Australia’s deadliest creatures plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback. A film which is suitable for all ages and a family viewing. The vocal in this film is superb and brim with comic one liner, it can feel slightly hyperactive but despite that this is light-hearted, this film is also about appearances which is important, this film will surprise many people.

6.Wicked

Elphaba, a young woman ridiculed for her green skin, and Galinda, a popular girl, become friends at Shiz University in the Land of Oz. After an encounter with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads. Drawn you in from the start in this epic film. The film itself is gorgeous to look at, I also like the unlikely friendship aspect which is refreshing. It has got a bit of a pacing problem, but despite that the songs are catchy, it is silently powerful and moving.

5.Garnet’s Gold

Follow one extraordinary man’s quixotic and recklessly brave adventure in search of hidden treasure, in a belated rite of passage to rediscover the meaning of his life. Calming type of documentary that will made you smile. This is life affirming as this is inspirational, the only thing with this documentary it has got a weak ending, if you get past that this is beautiful and it will touch people heart, it will leave you a lasting impression on you.

4.The Big Year

Two bird enthusiasts try to defeat the cocky, cutthroat world record holder in a year – long bird – spotting competition. Great scenery with the feel-good experience which you needed. It is inoffensive as this is joyous and heartwarming, this is nearly perfect and I just feel it didn’t gel or flow together as much, it can be funny in places and this is heartfelt, this will surprise people.

3.The Creator

Against the backdrop of a war between humans and robots with artificial intelligence, a former soldier finds the robots’ secret weapon to end the conflict, an AI in the form of a child. Having watched this film I thought wowed. it is action packed but it never loses the story itself, it can get slightly overcomplicated and it falters just a little bit, it recovers well as this is eye catching, it is unpredictable and the film itself is certainly memorable.

2.Arrival (2016)

Louise Banks, a linguistics expert, along with her team, must interpret the language of aliens who have come to Earth in a mysterious spaceship. If you like a film that will made you think this is ideal for you. The acting for this film is amazing and totally convincing, for me personally I didn’t think much of the twist, despite that this is a slow burner film. Once you watch this film you will always remember this, the pacing is perfect as it does hold your attention.

1.A Boy Called Christmas

In this origin story of Father Christmas, an ordinary boy with a loyal pet mouse and a reindeer at his side sets out on an extraordinary adventure to find his father, who is on a quest to discover the fabled village of Elfhelm. Just breathtaking as this is a beautiful film. this is like an adventure Christmas film, this film is suitable for all ages. The only flaw in this film is the villain isn’t as memorable, it has got a multi layered story that work perfectly, this is silently watchable.

  1. Interesting list. I think you discuss some interesting films in this article. Personally, I disagree with you regarding Arrival. I think it’s a true masterpiece and one of Denis Villeneuve’s greatest movies. Amy Adams is amazing in it. That being said, I can see why everyone may not enjoy it. The pacing is slow for sure.
