Bumblebee

Bumblebee teams up with a teenage girl to protect the world while the Decepticons hunt him with the help of a secret agency. Firstly, the set pieces are exciting and watchable. It has got a brilliant story, for me personally this film takes itself too seriously, it also hard to care about with these characters. I just feel in general it lacks the charm. With these flaws it could have been something special, it has got some potential but it didn’t quite deliver for me personally.

Calendar Girls

Best friends Chris and Annie are members of a charitable institute. When Annie’s husband succumbs to leukaemia, the friends decide to pose nude for a calendar to raise funds for a local hospital. Being based on a true story it inspires on those people behind this film. The story is simple and easy to follow; it is perfectly watchable, I just feel in general this doesn’t offer you anything new or fresh, it seems too predictable and too safe. Despite that the acting is brilliant and totally convincing, this isn’t a bad film as this is a good film.

The Thursday Murder Club

Four irrepressible retirees spend their time solving cold case murders for fun, but their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn when they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands. An all-British film with a stunning cast. The four main leads have got excellent chemistry together, unfortunately this film can feel like a TV made film, it doesn’t gel or flow together as much. if you like a murder mystery film this is ideal for you, this is suitable for a rainy day.

Juror # 2

While serving as a juror in a high-profile murder trial, a family man finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma, one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict or free the wrong killer. Everything about this film ticked all the boxes. It has got a brilliant story, the acting is amazing, this film is certainly memorable, it has got twist and turn in this film, it’s the ending that is slightly disappointing. It doesn’t creep you under your skin as it lacks the psychological aspect, despite with these flaws it does draws you in from the start.

Kensuke’s Kingdom

Young Michael, shipwrecked on a remote island, must adapt to life alone. Over time, he feels another presence, learning that this world is home to both unimaginable danger and beauty. Calming type of film which you needed. The scenery is outstanding and eye catching at the same time, it might be only 75 minutes but it will move you, it has got a multilayered story that will draws you in. It is another film that doesn’t gel or flow together, this is a superb film.

Flightplan

A bereaved woman and her daughter are flying home from Berlin to America. At 30,000 feet, the child vanishes, and nobody will admit she was ever on the plane. Despite this film feel too predictable for some people. You will care about with these characters as it got that emotional aspect, it got a load of twist and turns in this film, it is thought provoking and it will made you think. It will draw you in from start to finish, this is surprisingly good and watchable.

I’ll watch out for Flightplan. Thanks for the review.
