10.The Pale Blue Eye (IMDB – 6.6/10)

Veteran detective Augustus Landor investigates a series of grisly murders with the help of a young cadet who will eventually go on to become the world – famous author Edgar Allan Poe. If you get past the darker elements and the brutal aspect, there is a wonderful story that will draw you in. The ending is quietly powerful and it will move you, it has got twist and turn throughout this film, if you wanted a perfect period horror film this is ideal for you.

9.Tarzan 2013 (IMDB – 4.8/10)

Tarzan and Jane Porter face a mercenary army dispatched by the evil CEO of Greystoke Energies, a man who took over the company from Tarzan’s parents, after they died in a helicopter crash. Character driven animation film that will surprise you. It got that emotional aspect and it never feel forced or too sentimental, it has got stunning scenery and the animation itself is gorgeous to look at, this is perfectly watchable from start to finish, overall, this film is suitable for all ages.

8.IF /2024/ (IMDB – 6.4/10)

A young girl who goes through a difficult experience begins to see everyone’s imaginary friends who have been left behind as their real – life friends have grown up. Being on the verve of too sentimental for some people. The CGI/SFX is truly outstanding, it like a childlike film that will touch people heart, the message of this film is life in general and people will relate to that, it has got an all star cast and they all convince in their roles; it is a family viewing type of film.

7.Motherless Brooklyn (IMDB – 6.8/10)

Lionel, a private detective with Tourette Syndrome, sets out to uncover the mystery behind his mentor Frank’s murder. However, he stumbles upon a larger conspiracy. A perfectly paced film which certainly holds your interest. It never gets too overcomplicated with the flashback elements, it also got twist and turn throughout this film, it is unpredictable from start to finish. This is another film which has got an all-star cast, it has got a superb ending that will move you.

6.Presence /2024/ (IMDB – 6.1/10)

The Payne family becomes convinced they are not alone after moving into their new home in the suburbs. Having watched this film I thought wow. It got that psychological aspect and it slowly creep you under your skin, this is more character driven than you expected, it is well casted and they are believable in their roles, once you watched this film you will always remember this.

5.Dumplin’ (IMDB – 6.5/10)

Willowdean, an overweight teenager of a yesteryear beauty queen, decides to participate in her mother’s Miss Teen Bluebonnet pageant to prove a point. Don’t judge this film as this could be predictable but it still heartfelt. It deals with the personal journey aspect and that is relatable, the casting is perfect as this is silently powerful, it is another film that will capture people heart. this also doesn’t feel forced or too sentimental, overall, this film will move you from start to finish.

4.A Big Bold Beautiful Journey (IMDB – 6.0/10)

Through a surprising twist of fate, single strangers Sarah and David get to relieve important moments from their respective pasts, illuminating how they got to where they are in the present. Fantastic looking film that is relatable for people. It might be weird and surreal but it needed that in this film, the chemistry between the two lead is superb, the idea and the story is brilliant as it tries to be something different, if you wanted something different this is ideal for you.

3.I Kill Giants (IMDB – 6.1/10)

Twelve-year-old Barbara Thorson struggles through life by escaping into a fantasy life of magic and monsters. Eye catching film that will leave you a lasting impression on you. It like a terminal illness film that mixed in with the fantasy elements, for me personally it certainly works. The casting is amazing and spot on, it is a relatable film for so many people. You will care about with these characters; it will silently draw you in from the start, this film is worth watching.

2.The Half Of It (IMDB – 6.9/10)

A shy, introverted, Chinese – American, straight – A student finds herself helping the school jock woo the girl they both secretly love. Fantastic film that will made you smile. It is a lovely LGBTQ film that is wonderful, it can be funny in places as this is heartwarming, it also another film that you will care about with these characters, the ending is superb and this film is heartfelt.

1.The Bad Guys (IMDB – 6.9/10)

To avoid prison, a gang of notorious animal criminals pretends to seek being rehabilitated, only for their leader to realize that he genuinely wants to change his ways. Got to admit something I admire this film that tries to be something different. It doesn’t feel too hyperactive and that is the key, the vocal in this film is brilliant and brims with comic one liner, this is a heist film which is genuinely funny, it might not be for everyone but the idea is there with this film.
