A young female and her dog find themselves in a strange new world. With the help of new friends, they travel far across the new world for help to get back home. One of my childhood film which is eye catching. It has got theme of home and the personal journey aspect, this centres on the message that home, family and belonging are irreplaceable; it might not be for everyone but this is watchable, it got catchy tunes as this is escapism.

9.Lion (2016)

A five-year-old Indian boy is adopted by an Australian couple after getting lost hundreds of kilometres from home. 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family. Lion does centres heavily on the message of home, family, memory, and the powerful connection a person has to their roots. This is silently moving without being too sentimental, it will touch people heart as this is relatable, you will care about with these characters, it certainly memorable.

8.Chef

When Chef Carl Casper faces a career crisis, he hits the road to rediscover his passion for cooking. Must admit I enjoyed this film as this is a feel-good experience. There is a sense of connection, passion, and family plus it will made you think of home, it has got an all – star cast as they all convince in their roles, this is a crowd pleaser as this is an uplifting and joyous film, it might be sweary but this is watchable from start to finish.

7.Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle

A human child raised by wolves must face off against a menacing tiger named Shere Khan, as well as his own origins. Needless to say this has got amazing CGI/SFX. This has got central message about home, belonging, and identity; plus it will made you think of home, it might be too dark for the younger generation, it is eye catching from start to finish; once you watch this film you will always remember this, overall this film is certainly entertaining.

Enzo, a golden retriever, learns that the methods used on the racetrack by his owner, a Formula One driver, can also be used to navigate through life. Keep going throughout your life and that is an important message. The Art of Racing in the Rain strongly centres around the core message of “home”, family, and loyalty, anchored through the perspective of a wise golden retriever named Enzo, it is silently moving, this film will surprise many people.

5.Everybody’s Fine

A widower who realized his only connection to his family was through his wife sets off on an impromptu road trip to reunite with each of his grown children. Personally this film is quietly powerful. Heavily centres around the theme of home, family roots, and the emotional distance that grows when adult children leave their childhood home, the story will touch people heart, the acting is absolutely amazing, overall this is relatable.

4.Nomadland

After losing everything in the Great Recession, a woman in her sixties embarks on a journey through the American West, living as a van – dwelling nomad. Quietly you will care about with these characters. A home is not a physical house or four – walled building, but something you carry within you, shape with your experiences, and share through human connection, it has got stunning scenery, this is a slow burner film, this pretty good film.

3.Inside Out (2015 – 2024)

Riley is guided by her emotions Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust. They live in the control centre of her mind which is also known as Headquarters. They guide her through everyday life. Remarkable film which about mental health and that is important. This feature strong themes about home, change, and belonging, through their core message focuses on emotional acceptance, this is relatable and the characters are great.

2.The Call Of The Wild (2020)

A sled dog named Buck who finds himself without a master in a frozen new world struggles for survival in the wilds of the Yukon. The Call of the Wild features a strong central message about home, belonging, and finding your true place in this world. For me personally I connect with this message, it has got realistic CGI/SFX with the dog aspect, this another film which has got stunning scenery, this film will surprised many people.

1.Up (2009)

A grumpy old man turns his house into an airship using balloons and files off to South America with a young stowaway. Showing that home is not just a physical building or an object tried to the past, but the love, memories, and new connections we carry with us. It is one of the best Pixar film as this is heartwarming and heartfelt, it will leave you a lasting impression on you, the characters are great as this film is relatable; the story is beautiful and it will capture people heart, this is suitable for all ages and a family viewing film.
