Charlie Wilson’s War

A US legislator, a Texan socialite and a CIA agent join forces in the 1980s to fund Afghan terrorists in their fight against the Soviet occupiers of Afghanistan which leads to dramatic Consequences. Firstly it has got an all star cast which they all convince in their roles, the story is superb and those are the positives; for me personally the comedy aspect doesn’t really work throughout this film, it doesn’t leave you a lasting impression on you; it didn’t gel or flow together as much. I don’t want to be too harsh on this film as the idea is there, it has got some potential but for me personally it didn’t quite deliver.

Christopher Robin

A working – class family man, Christopher Robin, encounters his childhood friend Winnie the pooh, who helps him rediscover the joys of life. Another film which has got an all star which they all convince in their roles, the story and the idea behind this film is superb, unfortunately it not as uplifting or inspirational; it can feels slightly sentimental and it doesn’t gel or flow together as much. it doesn’t leave you a lasting impression on you; I don’t want to be too harsh on this film. To be fair with this film it has got superb CGI/SFX especially the animals itself, this film is a letdown for me.

The Awakening (2011)

A student of the paranormal phenomena, young Florence tries to debunk supernatural myths that people around her believe in. But amidst all this, Florence is haunted by the ghost of her dead lover. One of those film that will draw you in, it has got a clever twist in this film, but unfortunately it lacks the psychological elements. It can feels slightly safe and the midsection falters just a little bit, despite that this is pretty good film.

GOAT

A small goat with big dreams gets a once in a lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball, a high – intensity, co – ed, full – contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world. Fantastic looking animation film and it will draw you in. The characters are great and brims with comic one liners, but unfortunately it doesn’t offer you anything new or fresh, this feel too predictable and too safe; despite that this is an underdog type of film which you needed, this is perfectly watchable.

Frankenstein (2025)

Dr. Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation. Gorgeous looking film that will draw you in. It might be brutal but underneath it all there is a wonderful story, it lacks the psychological elements; from the first screen the monster reveals as it lacks the element of surprised, the pacing is slightly off but this isn’t a bad film, overall this is pretty good.

Jack The Giant Slayer

The ancient war between humans and a race of giants is reignited when Jack, a young farmhand fighting for a kingdom and the love of a princess, opens a getaway between the two world. I admire this film as it tries to be something different. The CGI/SFX is truly outstanding, it delves deep into the mythological aspect and that is the key, it is eye catching from the start; the only thing with this film it doesn’t gel or flow together as much, the ending is clever and if you wanted something different this is ideal.
