5.The Awakening (2011)

A student of the paranormal phenomena, young Florence tries to debunk supernatural myths that people around her believe in. But amidst all this, Florence is haunted by the ghost of her dead lover. For me personally it’s the acting that made this film worth watching. The twist in this film is superb; it might not be perfect but this got the gothic feeling and that what draw you in, the idea and the story behind this film is superb, it is a slow burner ghost story, this film deserve a chance.
4.The Woman In Black

A young solicitor travels to a remote village where he discovers that the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals. It isn’t a perfect film but it has got an all – star cast. It also a slow burner ghost story type of film, the acting in this film is believable and totally convincing, it is a gothic style of film, it is gorgeous looking film that is pretty good.
3.Van Helsing

The famed monster hunter is sent to Transylvania to stop Count Dracula, who is using Dr. Frankenstein’s researched and a werewolf for nefarious purposes. Gothic action film that works perfectly. It is entertaining from start to finish, it has got stunning CGI/SFX that is so realistic, it does delves deep into the mythological aspect; it might not be for everyone but it didn’t take itself too seriously, this is surprisingly enjoyable.
2.The Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death

40 years after the first haunting at Eel Marsh House, a group of children evacuated from WWII London arrives, awakening the house’s darkest inhabitant. Having watched this film I thought it was pretty impressive. The film itself doesn’t quite gel together but it still draws you in, it is genuinely spooky and gothic style of film, this also got the psychological aspect, once you watched this film you will always remember this.
1.Suspiria (2018)

When Susie travels to Berlin to join the Markos Tanz Company, she does not know her fate is about to change. A dark force targets the inhabitants of the company and tries to take over their lives. Just eye catching from start to finish with this film. it got that psychological aspect and that is important, it might be slightly surreal and weirdness toward the end, it like a ghost story/ witches’ gothic type of film, overall this is certainly memorable.
