1917 is about two soldiers who try to prevent an attack on unsuspecting 1,600 soldiers who walking into a deadly attack. It focuses around the first world war.
This film is tense and unpredictable as well the acting is superb especially George Mackay. Even the smallest part like Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Firth which are good. The other soldiers which is Dean – Charles Chapman make a worthy companion to George Mackay both are superb the journey of George Mackay characters is certainly memorable and really tense and riveting as well. The only thing is halfway during the film the momentum drop, like the bit when he talked to a group of soldiers and travel in a cargo with them and started whistling. For me personally despite of that is still a well-made film and emotionally engaging especially the ending.

For me, this was the best film of 2019. As Mark has written the plot is unpredictable. The way the film has been shot puts you right in the middle of the action with the two main characters and the camerawork is excellent.
As a war film, it sits alongside Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk as one of the greats.
