With Peter Jackson he normally cares about the characters and a proper storytelling as well, this will be a major successful film.
There has has obviously been a lot of work and thought gone into this post to re-imagine who would be involved in remakes of these films. I wouldn’t try to replicate them all – I haven’t got your depth of knowledge on current actors and directors, but I have a few alternative suggestions:
Andy Serkis to play Nosferatu
Johnny Depp in the Christopher Lee role as Dracula
Guillermo Del Toro (Shape of Water) to direct The Blob
Rowan Atkinson to play Inspector Clouseau
Mike Leigh or Ken Loach to direct the Elephant Man (because of their interest in social issues, especially those excluded by mainstream society)
For me, you can’t beat the original Bedazzled with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.
That’s all I’ve got at this point.
