Zero Dark Thirty

In the aftermaths of September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the CIA began interrogating suspected AI – Qaeda agents across the globe in a bid to locate Bin Laden. The only good thing in this film is the subject matter but for me personally the characters are hard to like and the story in this film is rather stifled. Leading up to the ending it just another shoot up type of film and it not compelling or hold interest.

World Trade Centre

Two port authority police officers become trapped under the rubble of the World Trade Centre in America. Don’t get me wrong this potential to be an amazing and devastation film and a really important subject matter, but this film just rushed it within eleven minutes in and you couldn’t care less about these characters as there isn’t much characters development or depts to them. The casting is so so but they do try their best but they could not save this film.

United 93

A real time account of the events on United flight 93, one of the planes hijacked on September 11th, 2001 that crashed near Shanksville, passengers and crew try to foil the terrorist plot. Don’t bother with the top two films and try this compelling, tense and a really important film. This is unpredictable and it hasn’t got an all stars cast as they are non-professional actor and actress which are amazing, it also respected the people and the survivors who fight for their lives and also help other people.

2001: A Space Odyssey

After discovering a mysterious artifact buried beneath the Lunar Surface, mankind sets off on a quest to find its origins. I know this film is critical acclaimed and especially back in 1968 but for me personally I thought it was really weird and a bonkers 20 minutes from the start of this film, especially throughout this film and there is a bit of positive that there is a real story to this film.

Forrest Gump

A man sitting on a bench talking to a bunch of strangers about his past lives that involving the presidencies of Kennedy and Johnson, the events of Vietnam, Watergate and other historical events and his past love. This is a beautiful and soulful film that you would connect to, the acting is superb especially Tom Hanks and I got to admit I was in tears. There are some minor flaws like the pacing and not as intense as it should be.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011)

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist as he investigates the disappearance of a wealthy patriarch’s niece from 40 years ago, he also seek help from a computer hacker Lisbeth Salander. This is a suspenseful masterpiece film with a whodunnit type of vibe, this can be really hard to watch with certain scene as it is compelling, stylish and a watchable film from start to finish.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu

In a world where people collect Pokémon to do battle, a 21-year-old boy comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who seeks to be a detective. This is my type of film as I really into live action films and I really like the director as he is consistent and I got numerous of films by him, I don’t think it quite kids and adults film as it got mild scary moments, the reason why I like this it’s imaginative and you can connect with the characters in this film.

Dora And The Lost City Of Gold

Dora, a teenage explorer, leads her friends on an adventure to save her parents and solve the mystery behind a lost city of gold. I’m really into live action films and this is surprisingly really good and generally moving as well, you can connect with these types of characters as the acting is superb and generally funny as well. I don’t think it quite kids and adults film as it got mild scary moments, this adventure yarn is imaginative.

The Princess And The Frog

A modern-day retelling of the classic story The Frog Prince. A waitress, desperate to fulfil her dreams as a restaurant owner, is set on a journey to turn a frog prince back into a human being, but she has to face the same problem after she kisses him. This is an inventive and a really cute film about appearances and true love, this is generally funny and with a funky soundtrack of old music and some jazzy numbers which are unbelievable good and very tuneful. The voice casting is top notch with a superb and a cute story.

Don’t know some of these films Mark. Disappointing that you didn’t like 2001. I saw this at the cinema when it first came out and was mesmerized. It’s one of those films that I can watch over and over. Great soundtrack too.
I can acknowledge that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a great story, but it is too violent for me in places.
