Mini Film Reviews 2

Annabelle Comes Home

While babysitting the daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a teenager and her friend unknowingly awaken an evil spirit trapped in an Annabelle doll. This is the final film in the film series as there are two others films of Annabelle and off all of them I prefer the second one, this one haven’t got the psychological dept or any generally jumpy scenes and it more like it come straight on a horror channel, too be fair the acting is reasonable.

Crawl

A young woman, while attempting to save her father during a category 5 hurricane, find herself trapped in a flooding house and must fight for her life against alligators. The first 30 minutes in the film is really good of something fresh, different and unpredictable. Then after that it just got worst with numerous deaths and it like a typically hardcore slasher film with no meaning and it hard to like the characters and being unconvincing, the only good thing in this film is a cute harmless dog and a gorgeous looking dog as well, the acting is reasonable.

The Terminal

An Eastern European tourist unexpectedly find himself stranded in JFK airport, He makes the airport his home and develops a friendship with the people who work there until he can leave. I found this film very likeable and generally moving, witty and really funny with the consistent Tom Hanks. Stanley Tucci is absolutely hilarious as the boo, hiss villain in this film. This is well intention but it not quite uplifting enough or laugh out loud funny, this isn’t Tom Hanks best film but it has got a good heart.

Spotlight

The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core. This is a well intention film with a good story and with a sensitive topic, the acting is superb especially from Mark Ruffalo and the most consistent Stanley Tucci and he made his character the most interesting in the film. The only negative thing is everyone know the story well so it not shrouded in mystery as it not tense or as gripping as much and slightly bit predictable, but it a well intention and an interesting film.

Robin Hood

An imaginative Disney version of the Robin Hood legend. The story of the legendary outlaw is portrayed with the characters as humanoid animals. I personally love this film from start to finished as it just a cute and well meaning, The characters are colourful with amazing personality and this film is full of heart and generally funny as well and this is a beautiful film.

Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil

Maleficent and her goddaughter Aurora begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions, unexpected allies and dark new forces at play. This film just blow me away as this is superb and jaw dropping at the same time and the visual just amazing and just wow with every detail, The acting is superb and the message is young love but please no more of them and just keep it just the two films. This is entertaining and a well-made film.

Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs

Exiled into the dangerous forest by her wicked stepmother, a princess is rescued by seven dwarf miners who make her part of their household. This is just breathtakingly beautiful and with a really good story that just gripped you from start to finish, this film is generally funny and my favourite dwarf is Dopey as he is the funniest one in this film for me personally. All the characters are well liked and overall this film got heart and also well made.

  1. I think the thing we agree on most is the consistent quality of Tom Hanks’ acting. Your review has reminded me that one of the few films that he has made that I have not seen is The Terminal. Having been reminded, I will make an effort to watch it. Thanks Mark.
