An all – star cast in this generally funny film, Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis are absolutely hilarious and it work really well. the casting is spot on and especially with their comic timing and more importantly the film work really well overall in this well-intentioned film.

9.Hot Fuzz

Top London cop, PC Nicholas Angel is good. Too good. And to stop the rest of his team looking bad, he is reassigned to the quiet town of Sandford and he is paired up with Danny Butterman. This is certainly a rip off a whodunit type of film and it is very clever and the concept of the film is very good, it certainly made use of assembles the well know cast who providing the laugh and the premise is really good one.

8.Fighting With My Family

A former wrestler and his family make a living performing at small venues around the country while his kids dream of joining World Wrestling Entertainment. This film is definitely a feel-good film and you don’t have to like wrestling at all, as it is a coming of age type of film and living your dream as you would connect with this film. The casting is excellent especially with their comic timing and with a superb story to this film.

7.Fast Girls

A street-smart runner develops an intense rivalry with an equally ambitious wealthy young athlete. An vibrant and a urban drama that certainly bring you a underdog type of film and you would be rooted for these characters, you actually care for them in a soulful and insight into the Olympian style of story and it certainly lift you up as you would cheers them on.

 6.Murder On The Orient Express

When a murder occurs on the train on which he’s travelling, celebrated detective Hercule Poirot is recruited to solve the case. This film uses the cinematography really well as the story as it look absolutely amazing and it drawn you in from start from to finish, there is a load of well know people in this film and they are really good, in this thoughtful and a well told story.

5.Sunshine Of Leith

Two Scottish soldiers return from a tour of duty into their hometown of Leith. We witness the trials and tribulations as we follow the love lives of both soldiers and their families. This is a rip roaring and a coming of age tale that brim with catchy songs, the acting is great with this uplifting and just a generally really nice film that you can relate to.

4.The Curse Of The Were – Rabbit

Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit, set out to discover the mystery behind the garden sabotage that plagues their village and threatens the annul giant vegetable growing contest. The voice casting is spot on and it brim with excellent comic timing and with a great story, it certainly gripping from start to finish in this likeable film that suitable for all ages.

3.Theory Of Everything

In 1960s Cambridge Stephen Hawking fall in love and started a relationship with Jane Wilde, they ended up getting marriage but he find out he got Motor Neuron Disease. This is an inspiration tale that break barrier and overcome so many obstacles in the way of someone life, I can connect with this film because of the message in this film. The acting is spot on and well sensitively told in this insightful and a sincere film.

2.Paddington (2014 – 2017)

Paddington having settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, has become popular in his community, offering people emotional support in various ways. An enchanting and generally funny tale and this certainly a sure fire hit with all the family and all ages alike, in this adventure film that pluck your heart string in the process in this feel good film.

1.A Monster Calls

The boy Conor O’Malley has frequent nightmares and is facing several problems. His beloved mother Lizzie has terminal illness and he might have to live with his strict grandmother Mrs. Clayton. Yes it is a tearjerker and yes it also predictable for other people but this film does ring true and you would connect to this film, everyone should watch this because it about grief in so many ways and the acting is magnificent and it is a slow burner and with a poignancy ending to this film.

  1. Agree with all your selections Mark, but you need to start looking at older films or you will be missing out on some great all time films, especially British ones. Like Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, A Taste of Honey, Brighton Rock, and any of the Ealing Comedies.
