10.The Shining

A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where a sinister presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from both past and future. A well-made chiller that send you chill down your back but it is effective and the acting is top notch especially Jack Nicholson, the premise is a good one in a thought-provoking film.
9.Sleepy Hollow

Ichabod Crane is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitation of three people, with the culprit being the legendary apparition, The Headless Horseman. A generally super spooky film that brim with an all – star cast and a super story that fitted well and really simple to follow, in this well-crafted film.
8.The Blair Witch Project

Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind. This is generally unnerving and with jump scare that bring you a super story that gripped you from start to finish, the acting is superb in this film that just work really well.
7.Orphan

A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be. A slow burner film with a great premise and the acting is absolutely amazing, this is one of those film that it might be rather similar to The Omen but with a clever twist at the end of this film. It certainly memorable with a film that brin with twist after twist and it is really simple to follow in this well paced film.
6.Paranormal Activity

A young couple, Katie and Micah, move into a new home and Micah records their live on his video camera. After strange events in the night, Katie admits that as a young child, she had once experience a ghostly presence in her room. A found footage type of film that certainly bring you an excellent story and convincing acting from the main two star in this film, it definitely unpredictable that send shiver to your back but with a super effective film and it is certainly watchable from start to finish.
5.The Sixth Sense

Dr Malcolm Crowe, decides to take on his first new case – the profoundly troubled eight year old boy, Cole Sear, exhibiting the same symptoms like one of his former patients, Cole goes one step further by solemnly claiming he has the gift, or curse of a rare and unwelcome sixth sense. A spooky chiller that get you under the skin and the majestic special effect in this effective, intelligent and a smart film, that boost with a talented cast as they are convincing in a superb story.
4.The Others

A woman who lives in her darkened old family house with her two photosensitive children becomes convinced that the home is haunted. A spine tingler ghost story that certainly capture the spookiness and certainly the casting is top notch and especially the two kids in the film, the premise is a really good one and the film in whole is certainly up there with the best supernatural film.
3.The Secret Of Marrowbone

In 1960s rural America, a young man and his three younger siblings, who have kept secret the death of their beloved mother in order to remain together, are plagued by a sinister presence in the spawling manor in which they live. A haunted house film with a hint of psychological aspect and there is a great story within this film, the acting is phenomenal especially George Mackay in this emotional and a thrilling film that is so watchable.
2.Monster House

Three teenagers, DJ, Chowder and Jenny think that after mean old man Nebbercracker died from a heart attack at his home, they all think it’s over, but they are wrong. An invented take on a haunted house genre that brim with amazing visual effect, the voice casting is spot on and generally funny in the process and it is heart – warming and generally moving at the same time, Steven Spielberg & Robert Zemeckis are executive producer to a well told animation film.
1.The Witches

A young boy stumbles onto a witch convention and must stop them, even after he has been turned into a mouse. The reason why I picked this as my number one Halloween film it has all the element of a child like story with a mixture of odd scary moment in this film and the casting in this film is totally utterly amazing and especially Anjelica Huston as she commander every scene in her role, the story is really easy to follow as it written by Roald Dahl originally and this is a slow burner that keeping you interested in whole of the film.
