10.The Greatest Showman

Celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. In this feel good film that bring array of well know stars and it is brilliantly acted, This also based on a true story about PT Barnum and all of the cast are really tuneful with array of different and catchy tunes that just stuck in your head and some beautiful ones as well.
9.Annie

A foster kid, who lives with her mean foster mom, sees her life change when business tycoon and New York City mayoral candidate Will Stacks makes a thinly – veiled campaign move and takes her in. A toe – tapping and an uplifting tale of colourful characters that really capture the spirit and a well-intentioned film, Bits of this film is generally funny and Cameron Diaz is absolutely hilarious as the villain in this film, it is definitely a heart-warming film.
8.Mamma Mia! (2008 – 2018)

The story of a bride to be trying to find her real father told using hit songs by the popular 1970s group ABBA, in the second film it focused on the mum perspective while she is young and navigate throughout her life. Both films are equally perfect in many ways that just bring a smile to people faces and the casting is spot on, they even get two different storyline that suited for both films.
7.Frozen

When the newly crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, when her sister Anna team up a mountain man with his reindeer and a snowman try to change the weather condition. A beautiful timeless story that brim with powerful songs and great characters that you would connect to, it is generally funny and the voice catching is spot on.
6.Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory

A poor but hopeful boy seeks one of the five coveted golden tickets that will send him on a tour of Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. An invented and a unique film that certainly bring you with brilliant and invented songs like with Pure Imagination which is a highlight of all the songs, the acting is brilliant and adult and kids alike will love this film.
5.The Wizard Of Oz

Dorothy Gale is swept away from a farm in Kansas to a magical land of Oz in a tornado and embarks on a quest with her new friends to see the Wizard who can help her return home to Kansas and help her friends as well. A bright and breezy and a colourful tale that keep you engrossing from start to finish, with spot on casting and the visual is outstanding despite it is rather dated now, but still an enjoyable watch.
4.La La Land

While navigating their careers in Los Angeles, a pianist and an actress fall in love while attempting to reconcile their aspirations for the future. This film got a lot of catchy and a beautiful song that brim with stunning acting from Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, the premise is really good in this thought provoking and a beautifully tale that is just eye catching from the first frame of this film.
3.Beauty & The Beast

A selfish Prince is cursed to become a monster for the rest of his life, unless he learns to fall in love with a beautiful young woman he keeps prisoner. A timeless classic that turn into a major Hollywood film that will bring you sincere and quietly powerful and certainly memorable version of the book and the animated film, the acting is exquisite and SFX is astounding that will keep this an worthwhile watch that suitable for all ages.
2.The Lion King

A young lion prince is born in Africa, thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar plots with the hyenas to kill King Mufasa and prince Simba, thus making himself king. The king is killed and Simba is led to believe by Scar that it was his fault, and so flees the kingdom in shame. A beautiful and emotionally charge film that give you fantastic and catchy song that make it so memorable, the storytelling is majestic and the vocal talent make this into a film that both adults and kids alike.
1.Sunshine On Leith

Two Scottish soldiers return from a tour of duty into their hometown of Leith. We witness the trials and tribulations as we follow the love lives of both soldiers and their families. The reason why I picked this film first it is a British film with a fantastic soundtrack and the casting are surprisingly tuneful with a beautiful story, you can connect with this film and these characters that you actually care for, in this surprisingly effective film.
I am not a big fan of musicals Mark, but for me one of the best all time films, never mind musicals is Cabaret, It has to be on this list for me.
