10.Little Women (2020 – Best Costume Design)

Jo March reflects back and forth on her life, telling the beloved story of the March sister – four young women, each determined to live life on her own terms. This film might take time from the start but if you are patient it actually does work really well, once it click into place it does made more sense and it is watchable with a superb all – star cast and they are excellent with a timeless story.

9.The Shape Of Water (2018 – Original Music)

At a top-secret research facility in the 1960s, a lonely janitor forms a unique relationship with an amphibious creature that is being held in captivity. In this usual film that it sort like a modern retelling of Beauty and The Beast and it certainly very well done, the casting is spot on and really convincing at the same time and a really good story to this film. It basically love never died and the appearances aspect of it, in this sensitive tale.

8.Speed (1995 – Best Editing)

A young police officer must prevent a bomb exploding aboard a city bus by keeping its speed above 50 mph. A proper action film that you getting to know the characters very well and a very menace villain, it is carefully pacey with not being too overlong in this cheesy action-packed film that is certainly to be remembered and with amazing stunts as well.

7.The Day After Tomorrow (2005 – Best Visual Effects)

Jack Hall, paleo climatologist, must make a daring trek from Washington, D.C. to New York City to reach his son, trapped in the cross – hairs of a sudden international storm which plunges the planet into a new Ice Age. This is sheer entertainment from start to finish in this thrilling epic style of film, it has the element of a characters study with the action aspect in this well intentioned and effective film with a bunch of famous faces.

6.How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2001 – Best Make up/Hair)

On the outskirts of Whoville lives a green, revenge – seeking Grinch who plans to ruin Christmas for all of the citizens of the town. In this zany but well-intentioned film that play out in this generally funny tale, the acting is certainly well casted especially the unrecognized Jim Carrey that certainly capture the character very well. It has got a message of anti – bullying which make this film very successful.

5.Dunkirk (2018 – Best Sound)

Allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire, and France are surrounded by the German Army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War 2. A majestic film from start to finish in this thrilling film and it is certainly tense, it is well written with likeable numerous main lead in different part has made this fact based film into an epic and action packed with a real emotional punch to this film and it is certainly engrossing.

4.Hugo (2012 – Best Production Design)

In 1931 Paris, an orphan living in the walls of a train station gets wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton. An array of well-known star that made this film a believable tale that is full off magic and wisdom, in this sincere story that really capture your imaginational and the casting is really good especially Asa Butterfield as the male lead. I’m not normally a Martin Scorsese fan but this film work really well in this colourful tale.

3.The Theory Of Everything (2015 – Best Leading Actor)

Stephen Hawking meet his love of his life while he at Cambridge in the 1960s and eventually they both get marry and live their lives, he then get ill with Motor Neuron disease and Jane becoming his carer. A beautiful and emotionally charge film that everyone can connect to of what you can achieve and the obstacles that you get through in life in general, it is a sensitively topic that is well handled and stunningly acted as well in this thoughtful film.

2.Captain Phillips (2014 – Best Supporting Actor)

The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the U.S – flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years. In this exciting, tense, thrilling and nerve shredding that certainly bring you a memorable film that with the excellent Tom Hanks, consistent like normal bring humanity and you actually care about these people in this hostage film that is certain believable.

1.Rango (2012 – Best Animation Film)

Rango is an ordinary chameleon who accidentally winds up in the town Dirt, a lawless outpost in the Wild West in desperate need of a new sheriff. The reason why I personally put this film first it is suitable for all ages and kids and adult alike will enjoy this colourful romp that bring with a stellar voice cast and their comic timing as well. it also have an important message of don’t be someone else but be true to yourself and just be you and I can connect to this film as it ring true to so many people.
