From the start it drawn you in automatically with a fact-based film that is well made and well casted, is has got a brilliant story that brim with tension and heart stopping moment in this gloomy and atmosphere tale that is so watchable from start to finish in a superbly made film.

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker. A whodunnit type of film that give you a real sense of a mystery and the pacing is well suited as this is a long film but it never drag down or losing any tension, it can be slightly hard to watch for certain people but we definitely needed to see a vulnerable side to the main character. It is very character driven which is a bonus and with a poignancy ending to this gripping film.  

8.Miami Vice

After a tragic security breach in the Joint Inter – Agency Task Force, the FBI ask for help from the Miami authorities, who are not part of the compromised group. This assignment goes to Detective James Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs. In this enjoyable film that certainly entertaining and it is rather talky with a bit of action and it just blended in well, don’t be put off from his crime film with an inch of a mystery with espionage that involved with an all – star cast.

7.Public Enemies

The Feds try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s. This is an underrated gem of a film which is insightful and it based on a true story which made this compelling to watch, the acting is amazing and with a crime aspect with a little bit of mystery that involved a watchable film with a fascinating tale, in this well-crafted film.

When a murder occurs on the train on which he’s travelling, celebrated detective Hercule Poirot is recruited to solve the case. Beautifully construct story that bring you with stunning cinematography that bring this story alive and with array of big names star, there is a massive twist in this film which is just work in this thoughtful and well-intentioned film.

5.I, Robot

In 2035, a technophobic cop investigates a crime that may have been perpetrated by a robot, which leads to a larger threat to humanity. It is one of those film that made you think and it is so unpredictable which is a good thing, the visual effect is outstanding and the story is well told by convincing acting and with amazing stunts as well. it blended the science fiction element into a mystery crime film which does work really well and it certainly an entertaining and a thrill ride in this watchable film.

4.Prisoners

When Keller Dover’s daughter and her friend go missing, he takes matters into his own hands as the police pursue multiple leads and the pressure mounts. An all star cast in this thrilling, intelligent and an engrossing watch that has the right balance of pacing and being spot on, it might be hard to watch but you will never forgot the ending of this film as it is shocking but in a good way and keep you guessing.

3.Knives Out

When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey is found dead at his estate just after his 85^th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc is mysteriously enlisted. Quirky, funny, clever and intelligent film that is brim with one liner and with a load of well-known faces, it is certainly fun as it is a different usual film that come out of nowhere and people will automatically fallen in love with this film.

2.Motherless Brooklyn

In 1950s New York, a lonely private detective afflicted with Tourette’s syndrome ventures to solve the murder of his mentor and only friend. Compelling, clever and well casted as this is amazing in this gripping film with a real sense of a mystery and the good thing is, it not overcomplicate and really easy to follow and with likeable lead as well. the ending is superb as it is poignancy and moving at the same time, it is certainly underrated and that what made this an excellent film.

1.The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn

Intrepid reporter Tintin and Captain Haddock set off on a treasure hunt for a sunken ship commanded by Haddock’s ancestor. The reason why I picked this first it has the element of a mystery with a hint at crime in it as he being chase by an unknown villain and the mystery of a sunken ship treasure in this bright, breezy and colourful tale in this good-looking film. The voice cast is excellent with a bit of comic timing as well and the cinematography is amazing in this entertaining and watchable thrill ride of a film.
