After a sudden attack on M15, Johnny English, Britain’s most confident, yet unintelligent spy, becomes Britain’s only spy and he go on numerous missions to save the world. 1. Another good mix Mark, and I agree with you about Bridge of Spies – great film. As always, let me recommend some older films in this genre:
I know from your review you didn’t like Tinker Tailor, but for me one of the best in this genre. The TV series with Alec Guinness was even better. Other great films that portrayed the banality of the spy’s work were The Spy who Came in From the Cold (Richard Burton), and the Ipcress File (Michael Caine).
Bu, by far the best espionage film I have seen was The Lives of Others about life in East Germany during the Cold War. Worth tracking down.
