10.Yogi Bear

Jellystone Park is celebrating its 100th anniversary, but it’s also threatened with not enough money to keep the park open. Yogi and Boo Boo have to keep out of the way of humans and stop stealing their picnic baskets. This will divided people as some people will like this and some don’t but I personally love it as it is well intentioned and Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake got great chemistry, with a story that is easy to follow and it is heartfelt.

9.Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory

Candy man Willy Wonka prompts a worldwide frenzy when he hides five golden tickets inside his infamous candy bars. The lucky ticket holders will become privy to a tour of his eccentric secret world of candy making that involves chocolate rivers and walls that taste like Snozzberry. It is definitely a classic film that everyone will fallen in love with and all the songs are truly magnificent especially Pure Imagination, Gene Wilder and the cast are spot on.

8.Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were – Rabbit

Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit, set out to discover the mystery behind the garden sabotage that plagues their village and threatens the annual giant vegetable growing contest. Everyone actually love Wallace & Gromit with their mini films for example A Grand Day Out and The Wrong Trousers, it’s their first major outing as a full-length movie. It is brilliant and cliché of other films which is really clever, the vocal talent is outstanding especially from Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter, in a well-made film for all ages.

7.Chicken Run

Ginger is the “head chick”, and she deviously plots to free all the chickens on the farm, preventing an otherwise certain “Death By Chicken Pie”. After many failed attempts she meet Rocky, the “flying rooster”, and decides that he holds they key to their freedom. A beautiful, witty, funny, heartfelt film that brim with funny one liner and it is gorgeous to watch. It is so simple to follow and with colourful characters in a superbly made film.

6.The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society

Free – spirited writer Juliet Ashton forms a life – changing bond with the delightful and eccentric Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, when she decides to write about the book club they formed during the occupation of Guernsey in WWII. A sincere tale that is so beautiful and moving at the same time, which is based on a true story, it also focused on an actual pie as well due to the title, it got a good cast and it is a feel-good type of film.

5.Paddington (2014 – 2017)

Paddington is happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, where he has become popular member of the community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. Definitely a really cute film that filled with laughter with a sincere story that all ages will like this film, it is certainly got the best baddie in Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant as they play their part spot on, the comedy aspect from Paddington antics is simply laugh out loud funny in this family type of film.

4.Over The Hedge

When a hungry bear wakes up to see R.J, a raccoon, steal his provisions and then accidentally throw them all over the streets, he threatens to kill him if he does not return every single item he took from him. RJ has six days to steal from every human’s kitchen he can find. Bruce Willis don’t normally do animation film but this one is excellent as you actually care about with these characters, all these animals got great personality and it about working in a team with different people, it is definitely a family viewing with a lot of delicious food.

3.Eat Prey Love

Liz Gilbert have a spiral downward because her husband cheat on her and she is completely lost and don’t know what to do, she decided to travel around the world to find herself on a self-discovery. She discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy, the power of prayer in India, and inner peace and the balance of true love In Bali. Coming of age type of film that people can connect to and the cinematography is stunning, brilliantly acted as well.

2.Ratatouille

A rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous restaurant. So simple storytelling that certainly give you a sincere tale of a usual friendship in this gem of a film, the voice casting is superb and it is really cute with a simple to follow story that will capture people heart, it is definitely a viewing for everyone in the families and it is a classic film that you can watch that you never get tired of this good-looking animation film.

1.Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs (2009 – 2013)

After the disastrous food storm in the first film, Flint and his friends are forced to leave the town. Flint accepts the invitation from his idol Chester V to join The Live Corp Company, which has been tasked to clean the island. The reason why I put this film first it has all the elements of a classic film that simply warm, witty, funny, smart and inventive at the same time. It actually about a person who chasing his dream and it come true, it ring true to me with great and memorable funny moments, it will be a future classic to all people.

  1. Not a genre that I have thought about before. Two films come to mind as good examples though:
    Tampopo
    Sideways – a tour of Californian vineyards.
    The other example that comes to mind when thinking of food related cinema is the classic scene from Public Enemy when James Cagney shoves a grapefruit into a woman’s face. Not very pc but memorable.
